It was fun being the first ones on a new ship. I am sure the outdoor activities will be very popular, just not on a transatlantic cruise in November.
Embarkation

Simple to get onboard.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food was awesome on board. Not sure if it was because it was the maiden voyage, but the buffet had crab legs on multiple days, often with shrimp and/or crab claws.
Le Bistro was excellent - food as well as service.
Q - didn’t expect much for BBQ on a cruise ship, but the brisket was fantastic. Large portions and trimmed of fat.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Facilities are great. Did not participate in the go carts or laser tag as the weather did not cooperate.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Choir of Man was a great show along with Kinky Boots.
The Liverpool Beatles were fun to watch and reminisce but the music was lacking.
Children's Programs
No kids with us.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone on the cruise was very helpful. You did notice some “newness” of the cruise and people getting to understand the ship.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Beautiful ship. The “chandelier “ in the atrium is pretty unconventional but is unique in its color changing capability.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Cabin was as expected with it being new. Standard NCL balcony room.
Convenient access to spa and elevators but away from unnecessary traffic.
Ship tip
Book shows and dinners as soon as you can. Main theater filled up quickly even with ship sailing under capacity.
Did not do an excursion but did walk around. Was rainy when we were there so did little exploring.
Stayed at Holiday Inn that was only a few minutes walk to the terminal.
We stayed on the top floor on the west side of the building and were able to watch the ship dock.
Have never sailed into New York before so I don’t know if what we experienced was normal. We arrived at port in the evening. Everyone had to disembark and go through customs at that time. This was even though we were not leaving until the following morning. We had to stay in the terminal (could have gone into the city but weather was poor). We were not allowed to get back on the ship until everyone had disembarked and was accounted for. The next morning you only had to walk off the ship but it took a few hours out of your last evening on the ship.
Not unique to New York, we had the same experience with customs in Sydney Austrailia. Arrived 8am everyone had to exit ship and clear customs did not disembark until following morning.
