Great experience doing an extended transatlantic cruise.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
A bit confusing and the local temporary staff on hand were not the best.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Lots of good choices for food anytime of the day. Superb efficient and friendly staff.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Participated in many of the staff-lead games. Tried the on-board racetrack - super fun! It was too cold for me for the pool/waterslide etc., but they looked great.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows were phenomenal! I was expecting mediocre but adequate less-than-commercial shows, but the two I went to Chorus of Men and Kinky Boots were spectacular. Kinky Boots was Broadway quality. The Musical entertainment was also of professional level as well. Several good groups/performers. Also had some very entertaining comedians performing several times.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Just could not have been more friendly or helpful - literally! These folks work hard for their pay and they very so completely positive and consistently cheerful.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Everything was well designed and clearly well thought out and maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
I really enjoyed the Studio cabin experience. The Studio section is quiet and separated from the rest of the ship just enough to give it a distinct micro-community. The cabins are small but extremely well designed. I had no feeling of being in a tiny cabin in the middle of a huge ship. It was much more cozy and bright.
Ship tip
The internet conections are glitchy. For best access you need to go the atium area near the internet cafe - whic can be quite loud.
I arrived a day early to spend dome time in the Southampton Central. It is a very walkable area. Good shopping. Seasonal open-air markets. Some nice historical locations.
I stayed an extra day to spend some time in New York on my own. NY has a TON of things to do and see - particularly in Manhattan. Great choice for a cruise add-on.
The actual disembarcation was clunky. Had to disembark the ship and clear Immigration the night before we actually and to leave the ship. On the day of final disembarcation my "color" was called too early. I took the pre-arranged bus transportation. Rushed to disembark, then just stood in line waiting for a bus for about an hour. VERY disorganized.
