Review summary

Originally ship was to sail from Southampton to Miami but NCL went to NYC for the publicity. Inaugural cruise was a great experience but traveling across the North Atlantic in November was not ideal. First two days were rough - 45 foot waves and 60+ mph winds. Out of 9 days only had about 1 1/2 days we were allowed on outer decks. Ship was only about 42% capacity which allowed empty hallways and elevators. Meeting NCL Escape in front of Lady Liberty was a once in a lifetime experience. Great ship bad route.

Due to weather not much outside time. Staff had plenty of "stuff" going on.

Major productions were unbelievable. Broadway caliber sets and performers. Bar entertainment was great.

Staff was the greatest we have ever encountered on a cruise. Everyone was smiling and greeted you with a good morning or hello. Ship had the cream of the crop of staff.

Ship Quality

Clean - ship was brand new and still staff was always cleaning. Nice design taken from the other Breakaway class ships with some new improvements.

Cabin / Stateroom

Changed from 9788 to 10806 for a walk-in shower instead of a tub. Cabin was very nice and the bigger bathroom was just grand.

Ship arrived on Sunday and we disembarked on Monday. Problem we ALL had to get off ship on Sunday evening to go through CBP and wait about 3 hours till getting back on-board. 3+ hours wasted on last evening of cruise. Probably not NCL's fault.
