Review summary

If I take embark and disembark out of the equation, it was a great cruise. Nothing overly spectacular, but just a nice, relaxing cruise.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
Forced to stand in the rain and lines for over 2 hours. No disabled line for handicapped people.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Venetian main dining was great. A solid variety of food and great service - especially from Rico. Hibatchi at Teppanyaki was awesome.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pool was ok. Hot tubs were a little cold.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were very well done. Not as much of a variety as in cruises past, and there seemed to be less music and entertainment on the main pool deck.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone as crew were wonderful. Folks involved in embark and disembark seemed confused about who was to go where. Took over 2 hours to embark and a little more than 2 hours to disembark. Lines to go through immigration were wrapped through the ship, onto the outside decks.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very well cleaned, but the decor is a little old.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Fine for the time spent in the cabin. There is a camera that points directly at the balcony in this room.

Ship tip

Good for an older crowd without kids. If you have teenagers, pick a larger ship with more things for them to do.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida

1 out of 5
Embark wasn't good. Didn't do any excursions there.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Nice visit. Did a sea turtle rescue excursion - found 1 turtle. Excursion was scheduled for 4 hours. 1 hour was spend looking for the turtles, 3 hours spent traveling or at the "private resort" being approached by locals trying to sell stuff.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

3 out of 5
Nothing significant to see in the port. Town outside is pretty dirty and full of vendors. Did a catamaran excursion - supposed to be 4 hours, the vendor showed up 30 minutes late and didn't make up the time. Catamaran was older and had no amenities. They didn't have enough snorkel gear to fit everyone.

Harvest Caye, Belize

5 out of 5
Best stop on the trip. Got to snorkel (have to rent the gear for $30/set up). Just a nice, relaxing beach day.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

3 out of 5
Went to the tourist area just off the ship. No excursion here. Shops were nice and we found some nice gifts. Beware $5 water there.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Very uncoordinated. Immigration lines wrapped through the ship and around the outside deck. 2 hours plus in line and no known disabled line.
