This was our 6th cruise. Very disappointed in the things to do on the ship and the shows. The restaurant and bar service was not real good. I wandered if it was a training ship. I would recommend another Norwegian ship.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Food was ok nothing great. No speciality meal according to what country you visited. Dining rooms was ok had to ask for a refill several times from both our waiters. Did not try specialty restaurant. The bamboo was always booked.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Not much to do. No giant movie screen on top deck, only two comedy shows all week, (one adult and one family show). Went to star dust shows and only stayed for 3. Had to wait awhile for bar service. Bartenders would walk by and not ask our order several times. Only one pool on top of deck.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The cruise director was good. The dj was awful was not aware of his audience. A lot of middle aged people and he played modern music instead of a good mix. The element show was very good. That was about it. Not a lot to do on the boat.
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
Room steward was great. Other restaurant and bar staff was not so great.
We have done 7 cruises with Norwegian and was very disappointed with the Dawn will not go on her again. Strange the other ships are so much better in every way
We sailed on the Dawn this past August and felt the same way about the Staff. They were nice and polite but didn't know anything. Very unusual for Norwegian, as this was our 6th cruise with them. We still had a great time.
You cruised during one of the busiest weeks of the year, so not too surprising that service may have been slower than usual. As far as things to do on the ship, why do people seem to need constant entertainment and activities? It seems many have forgotten, or never learned, the joys of relaxing in a deck chair, reading a good book, doing a crossword puzzle or sudoku, taking a nap or just doing nothing at all.
