Review summary

This was a huge disappointment! We are avid cruisers and expected much more. The value was missing from the get go! Very old and tired room with many defects. For the price our travel agent charged us is a big question?? Why the Dawn took a premium cabin and let it disintegrate is ??? Rust, paint drippings dirty balcony, shameful drapes and sliding door. Julie our steward tried but the balcony was the General Manager miss.

Balcony was very poor condition. There were rusted out support railings. Paint splatter on glass railing. Glass balcony super dirty. The sliding door had not be cleaned or refurbished for many years. The privacy drape was full of holes. There were stains on ceiling. We paid way to much for what we got. Do not recommend ! We asked for concierge level service. Said not available, the cabin next to us had concierge????

Ship tip

This was our fifth Norwegian sailing. A big miss this time. We have had 18 cruises total. We will go with others again. They can keep the Gold Latitude membership

Chaos and Danger. There were two Dawn staff on shore for excursions. (700 people in state of confusion) because Dawn not prepared. Ship said partly cloudy 57 degrees on May 17. The weather looked bad, I asked one of the two staff members to double check weather 3 times. With no weather warning 29 of us entered the 85 foot schooner ride. The weather so bad they could only use half the sail. Within 15 minutes it started raining. Then for the next hour cold freezing rain with no shelter. Finally a lady almost in tears asked to go back. As we arrived to port there was a 500+ person lineup for two tenders in the freezing rain. So after 45 more minutes we had some shelter in tender boat. NOT ONE DAWN STAFF COULD BE SEEN. Now we could have medical bills to visit doctor with cold and flu. RECKLESS, RECKLESS , RECKLESS WITH OUR SAFETY. They knew the storm was on us and sent us out anyway!

Sailed on the Dawn in April- never again! Constant plumbing issues, electrical fire, one interior cabin had no a/c.... I made the best of it but turned me off! They keep saying to fill out the survey- I did and never got a reply! Guest services was horrible..... food good, the drink package made it for us....lame entertainment as well! Booked our next on Celebrity and dollar for dollar got a way better deal

Had similar issues with the Dawn back in 2016. Seems like things haven't changed much.
