Review summary

We’re sold on Norwegian! We would definitely cruise with them again (soon) and would sail on the Dawn again despite its layout flaws. An exceptional trip that was a great value too!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very organized. Bags were collected immediately, line was long but moved efficiently with a lot of agents getting everyone checked in.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Dining rooms were great, menu changed daily with good choices. Buffet was consistent and available almost all the time.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Fitness center, adult pool with lots of chairs and live entertainment changing throughout the day. Multiple bars, a food area at the pool, big comfy couches- just a great seat up!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Many choices!

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Love, love, LOVE the kids program. Divided by age group, no reservations necessary! Optional late night option from 1030p-130a for $10 total!! (2 kids for all 3 hours if you’d like!) Tons of special kids activities, organized circus show the last day at the theater where the kids do a performance. T-Rex kids pool and slides were great (although not enough seats and no lifeguard.) READ: you need to watch your kids!! The counselors were great and check in/check out very secure. Kids loved going and we felt comfortable with them being there.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Carlo our room steward was EXCEPTIONAL!! Star in the Splash Academy was also wonderful!! All the staff were great, but these two went above and beyond!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The layout is definitely confusing, but once you find the route you’re set. ie certain floors do not continue through from front of ship to back of ship. You reach dead ends and need to go up a floor or down to continue.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The balcony was great-seats and a table. Mini fridge for food storage, plenty of space u set beds for luggage storage as well ask large closet space. Nice bath with a tub/shower combo and toilet area with a sliding door. Would stay in this room again!!

Ship tip

Carry the map of the ship with you- it’s very detailed and helps if you get lost. Hand sanitizer everywhere! If you forget yours you’ll run into 12 more along the way!

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Easy to get in and out- was pleasantly surprised.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
Right off the ship there’s tons of shopping, massages and dolphin encounter RIGHT THERE! No need to travel off site. A pool , chairs and covered cabanas also available.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Again, very organized. People were allowed off the ship earlier than expected and our luggage was at the terminal 1 hour earlier than expected. We were allowed on our room until 9am and on the ship until 10am. There were also food areas open that morning for breakfast.

Glad you enjoyed it. Glad you thought the kids activities were good I see a ton of people posting that there is nothing to do for kids on the ship.
