Review summary

We enjoyed every aspect of this cruise. The cabin was small but comfortable. It’s well worth getting the balcony as it made a big difference to the comfort of the room.

Embarkation

Lots of lines but they moved quickly and we were able to access our cabin right away. Our bags also arrived very quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We had the 3 meal package. All the restaurants were great, including the prepaid ones. I would highly recommend the Brazilian one. I don’t eat red meat (my husband does) but the chicken was delicious. The chef even prepared something especially for me. The salad bar is outstanding, more like antipasto really.

Mostly good. There was one night when the entertainment was only a paid game of Deal or No Deal.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida Did not visit port

We live nearby.

Cozumel, Mexico

We did not go on an excursion. Very typical Mexican port. Lots of shops with vendors touting their wAres.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
Our catamaran/snorkeling tour was cancelled due to high winds and rough water. There is a very nice ‘sanitized’ shopping area with a pool and lounge chairs available at no additional cost.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

We went on a beach/snorkeling tour. Lovely beach but very aggressive vendors. This was a surprise as it is a private beach. Roatan is very lush and beautiful.

Harvest Caye, Belize

4 out of 5
Harvest Caye is purpose built by Norwegian. It has a beautiful pool. The sand is very gravelly though if you prefer the beach. You do not need to rent a cabana or cottage as there are plenty of beds and umbrellas. Although this caye belongs to Norwegian, there is an extra charge for everything. Although lovely, Harvest Caye is nothing like the test of Belize.

Disembarkation

It was very slow but quite orderly. We chose to disembark at 9:30am but we actually got off the ship at about 11:30. I would recommend leaving a couple of extra hours for this.
