Review summary

Cruising on the Dawn /NCL has taken a step backwards. Here we go: Made appointment to process on board at 12.30pm. Looked like everybody had the same time to board. Mass of people. Handicap passengers had 60 to 90 minute wait for wheelchair help. Cabin were small. With beds together you had about 6 inches to get past the desk to get left side of bed. No chair to even sit on. Had a small round stool. They cut the TV channels way back. Don't even carry ESPN anymore. Freestyle dining a mess. Had to wait 20 to 30 minutes with a pager, in order to eat at night. All the specialty were booked from 6 to 8pm. People with the specialty restaurant package, were having a hard time getting reservations. You were not allowed to bring soda or bottled water onboard thus forcing you to buy soda and bottled water on board at exorbitant prices plus the 18% service charge. Food was very good as was the service once you got a table.

we did all our forms online and printed out our eDocs and luggage tags.

My experience was totally different. We had an early check in time and had 7-7:30 dinner reservations every night. Cabin was totally sufficient with ample storage and the steward was awesome.

@ljh180 I'm counting down the days too! 😀

No, Sumday2, nothing about boarding time. I am actually in the same cruise you are on. Can't wait!

@ljh180. Thank you. I did my online check in but never heard anything back. They asked for our passport #'s etc.... and then the computer said I was all set. Did you receive anything by email? When do you sail?

I enjoyed the dawn there was plenty of room to walk around our bed which was put together and there was night stands on each side as far as excursions we didn't book online but got a cheaper rate by walking on shore and grabbing one of he local tour guides as far as the specialty restaurants we booked on the first day on board for open seating and didn't have to use a pager for freestyle dining ever so not sure what went wrong with your cruise sir

I think it get it when there is 60 days left, sumday2. I already did my online checkin and selecting boarding time wasn't an option.

My cruise isn't until the end of May. Is this something I can do now? I already booked my speciality dining and excursions but didn't know about the boarding process.

krogers360    7 years ago

you do it online at my NCL when you fill out your forms

sumday2    7 years ago

When do you get your boarding time? This is my first cruise so this is all new to me. Thanks!
