Review summary

My family & I were very much looking forward to a great vacation. Upon arriving

my son & Dtr in Law had cases of water confiscated. I did read the updated policy. Representatives from Norweign gave us two different reasons. First we needed a Dr note for the Baby Formula. Second Rep we were told we should have received a Confirmation Number from our Travel Agent.

If we cannot bring cases of water on. Why is is that when we have the unlimited drinking package that bottles of water are not included.

The Best Restaurant I would highly recommend is the Japanese Rest. One Restaurant that was disappointing was the Brazillian Steak.

We had great Weather. The Suite was Great.

The time in Bermuda was short. I feel the Ship could stay Tuesday Evening & Leave Wednesday.

Staff were very helpful.

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

krogers360 - Since we have the UBP, we are actually saving the cruise line some money by bringing our own drinks on board. It would make sense if we didn't pay for the unlimited drink package like you said.

Bhuse-- the cruise lines depend on selling booze. Otherwise they just break even.

I really hate that you cannot bring bottles of wine with you without spending a fortune on corkage fees. What's the reason for this?

mskarla63    8 years ago

perhaps Norwegian could include the bottle water with its drink package -royal does

I don't mind spell checker errors.... it's when it completely misinterprets my word. 😁

krogers360    8 years ago

We have to get used to spell checker errors too

I'm okay with having a favorite water bottle that gets refilled.

I grew up in an era when everyone knew how to drive "a stick" AND it was on the steering column... lol Blasting bottles are here.. embrace the change ☺ ☺

The cruise ships have perfectly good iced water served for free everywhere plus you're not wasting plastic bottles. I grew up in an era where we didn't carry plastic bottles around with us. Enjoy your trip and don't sweat the small stuff.

When I called NCL to complain I was called back by a customer service rep who indicated that they were fielding a large amount of water complaints, and they would pass the concern along to management. Nothing has changed. This is our last NCL booking, we will move back to Celebrity where they don't try to nickel and dime you to death. Just upset me that there was no warning.

Yup..... not the most passenger friendly policy change but bring a couple plastic bottles and refill them at the buffet

I had booked this cruise many months ago, and approx. a week before this policy went into effect, I called NCL to insure that our mini fridge would be empty so that I could bring our own water. My wife cannot drink alcohol so bottled water is her drink. I was assured the fridge would be ready. Then this policy change. Would not be an issue if their water pkg was priced reasonably. $58 for 18pk??

The unlimited drink package has somethings that you can not get, bottle water is one,it states that on NCL policy, the new policy is also on their, I was notified by email and by my travel also, I agree it is disappointing but I certainly wouldn't let that ruin my vacation.

Yes Norwegians new water policy is outrageous -if they want to sell their water -it should be something reasonable like carnivals

esm54687    8 years ago

Yeah, that new bottled water policy has a lot of people really upset..... head over to Cruise Critic and find hundreds and hundreds of posts about that. Bermuda is a beautiful island and it would be amazing to stay that extra night but Bermuda is one of the more expensive islands for a ship to dock at (reflected in your port fees you paid). It also costs the cruise company a pretty penny in fees paid to Bermuda to have the casino open while docked so it only makes sense to be at sea and collect 100% of the monies... and there are equal amount of passengers that enjoy sea days so the cruise line takes that into consideration.
