The Norwegian Dawn is a beautiful ship and the staff is overall attentive and the service in the restaurants is excellent. 10 resturants to choose from, I was pleasantly surprised that only one of them was buffet style. Fun barbecue parties on the pool deck. The Venetian Restaurant had the best service and menu. This was our first cruise and we were very happy with the ship and the trip to Bahamas and Bermuda. Nassau was the port we liked the least, the area around the port was not very clean or interesting. The staff could have given more information on how to get transportation from the ports to various destinations and day excursions. The snorkeling was not worth the 89.00 we paid, the equipment was cheap and we received no instruction on how to use the equipment. Would definately cruise on the Dawn again.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Liked the freestyle cruising, could eat anywhere anytime.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
shows could use improvement, the printed a daily schedule of activities and delivered it to your room, which was very helpful. Music in the lounges was entertaining.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
Could use more programs to entertain kids, the kids water play area is suited for kids in the 3-6 year age.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Most staff aimed to please, they delivered a hot dog to my finicky 9 year old at 10:30 in the morning when we ordered room service.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship was clean and our room was very comfortable.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Excellent, thought it would be tough for family of 4 to stay in one stateroom, but it was nicely laid out and the porter pulled out the extra bed at night and rolled it back under in the morning.
I could easily spend a week or more here, nice shops, spectacular beaches, would rrecommend Tobacco Bay beach, beautiful coral formations rising out of the water. Interesting old forts, didn't get a chance to eat here, but looked like they had some good reastaurants.
Shops in the Straw Market and surrounding area were not that interesting. Next time would take a ferry to Paradise Island. The Pirate Museum was okay but not really worth spending the time. I would not eat in any of the restaurants I saw in the Port area, did not look clean.
Gorgeous Island, beautiful beach, you take a ferry from the ship to get there, because the area is too shallow for the ship to approach to closely. No restaurants, the NCL has a barbecue ready for you when you arrive.
