Review summary

This was our second experience with Norwegian Cruise Lines. Our expectations were high and we were not dissapointed. From our arrival to the terminal on embarkation to leaving the ship a week later the service, cleanliness, food, entertainment and crew were all outstanding. A few glitches here and there but all in all a very pleasant cruise. Everyone wore a smile and went out of their way to assist with questions and solutions. A well trained and managed ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Enjoyed all seven we ate in.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We thouroughly enjoyed every venue we entered. The quality of the entertainment was world-class and could have been found in any club in Vegas or Paris. Our experience with the excersise room and spa met with our approval.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We did not have a bad experience with any member of the staff. Even Jaques, the hotel director, was affable and ready to assist with any issue we may have had. I could name several members of the staff who went out of their way to attend and satisfiy our wishes.

Ship Quality

Could of used a few more folks to police and clean left behind dishes, glasses and trays.

Ports of call

Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts

Great place to explore. Did not make advanced reservations for any shore excursions. Hired a local taxi driver who took us on a most wonderful tour. Gave us the lowdown on the different aspects of life on the island. Must say found the place a little snooty. Very aware of classes. But must say the island is beautiful and quiet and full of history.
Don't Miss: Don't look for bargains here unless you take the local cab ride. It's the best!

Bar Harbor, Maine

If you've ever wanted to see a live postcard this is the place. Beautiful cheerful tourist town with wonderful shopping and wonderful prople. Must try a brew in a local pub and talk to the natives. They love to tell you about the place.
Don't Miss: A local cab ride tour to the top of Cadilac Mountain. A view to die for!!

Newport, Rhode Island

5 out of 5
Quaint, picturesque New England village. The playground of the wealthy, not just the rich. Count the mega-yachts in the harbor. People are friendly and love to tell tails. Tall ones!
Don't Miss: The Breakers. The Vanderbilts called it their "cottage". We called it spetacular!

Boston, Massachusetts

A colonial giant. The history oozes out of the streets and buildings. Too much to see on a one day visit. We caught a tour of Fenway Park and the JFK museum. Best way to get around is a local bus or even a cab.
Don't Miss: Take the Freedon Trail walk. Passes through historical places you read about in history books.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

Wonderful, friendly people in a beautiful coastal village in Canada. What not to like.
Don't Miss: Take the Harbor Hopper tour. A slow ride around the town and then into the water for a splash!

Pros: The "service with a smile". Even when we were ashore in Newport standing in line to buy a soda, one of the crew members who had the day off asked us how we were enjoying the cruise.

Cons: A few times we had to ask for service in the Venetian. But must admit the restaurant was filled up.
