Review summary

Cruise was awesome, would recommend this NCL cruise to anyone. Tours were a little expensive but felt confident in buying them because they made sure we got back to the ship on time. We had a few people that were late getting back, they were lucky that the ship waited for them.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate at Teppanyaki, Moderna, La Cucina and Bistro all were great. We stayed in the Haven area so we did also eat at their designated restaurant food also tremendous.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We went to Bingo (won the jackpot) and did the deal or no deal but did not win, had alot of fun doing it. We are seniors so rock wall was not on our list, used the Haven pool and hot tubs . We did take a stroll around the deck and found alot of people using the pool and listing to the music and having a great time, the slide was also a bit hit with a lot of people, really enjoyed just watching them and laughing with them as they came down the slide.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We saw Rock the floor and Six, they were also awesome. Did one of the comedy shows and could not stop laughing, we didn't stay to long at the night clubs, a little bit to loud for us, but did enjoy the music.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our butler Jason A. was fantastic, her was always there when we needed something, delivered the food hot and ready to eat, cleaned up when we were finished. Our room steward Frances F. always had our room clean and always made sure we had everything we needed. Our Concierge Fiorella M. was also top notch, any issues I came across be it small or complexed she was able to handle and settle the situation in a very quick manner. Walking around and meeting other staff members was also great, always smiling saying Hello and have a great day. Very professional and cordial.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Layout was great, got a little confused the first day or two, but after that was able to navigate the ship. Only complaint was on one stop you can get off from the front of the ship (because we were Haven guest) but getting back on we had to use the 1 and only entrance at the back of the ship, that kind of put us in a (I'm confused situation) but we laughed it off and had a good time getting back to our 16th floor. All areas of the ship were constantly being cleaned, bathroom, seating areas, pool area etc. all great.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was unbelievable, beautifully appointed. Furniture well maintained, not rips or tears, glassware clean, bathroom immaculate. Bed very comfortable (would love to have taken it home). I would have liked to have the sheet a little softer, but that's just me. I definitely had a good night sleep. Air conditioning was great, actually had to turn it down a little. TV was OK, I like to listen to news in the morning, having our breakfast in room and on our deck. Channels are limited.

Ship tip

Book the Haven if you can, great great experience.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
Loved walking around Miami, went to Bayside Market, loved seeing the cruise ships, and shopping in the stores.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Loved swimming with the dolphins, seeing the sea lions, getting to see the sharks (sand sharks) very docile, alot of walking. Had a good lunch (which you have to pay for) not to expensive, very clean, all representatives very friendly, would defiantly recommend it. They also have swimming areas for the kids.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Megans Bay was awesome, we had a great time swimming and enjoying the day, went shopping in downtime Amelia. Then back to the ship.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

5 out of 5
Tortola did a bus/boat tour, we had half the tour by bus and the second have by way of a boat, saw a lot of Tortola, did not do any swimming or snorkeling, again we are older and that's not something we wanted to try. Heard from other passengers that they had a great time on the catamarans and the snorkeling.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

5 out of 5
Great Stirrup Cay is all beach, so we just enjoyed the beach and swim, we did do the swimming with pigs, that was alot of fun. They do have other excursions, but what we did was about the speed we wanted.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was a breeze, because we were Haven (we had priority disembarkation) and my sister was in a wheelchair, the porters are right there for you and will help with your luggage and get you outside for either the bus or if you are taking a cab, or if you have someone picking you up. Your luggage is grouped according to the color strip you have, saw alot of people walking over to the group which had their colors and getting their luggage. Again very happy. We took a cab to the airport and it was a flat rate of $27.00. The bus is $18.00 per person so we saved a few dollars and did not have to wait around until the bus was full.
