Certainly not a “must take” cruise, but definitely a lot of fun. Learn about the areas you’re visiting before making a choice. Same with dining. Read recent reviews and make your decisions from there.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
While embarking in Miami is a much better experience than in NY, it was still a bit inefficient and the lines were long
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
First the great: Le Bistro speciality restaurant, Ocean Blue specialty restaurant, and the Manhattan Room (main dining room). Superior service and high end restaurant quality food and drink. The sushi bar runs close behind in food quality, however, service was awful.
The mediocre: In fairness, I’m not a fan of buffets. Food left to dry out under lights, for who knows how long, not great. Reminds me of a school cafeteria.
The absolute worst: Cagney’s Steakhouse. Quality was that of a low-end chain restaurant. Seafood accompaniments were salted to the point of being inedible. They would not take it back, only “fix” it. 15 minutes after dessert was served, my main course arrived, just as salty as the last time.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
My only complaint is pool and fitness enter should be bigger, given the number of guest that are booked on such a large ship.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Shows were off-Broadway quality and talent was amazing. Musicians/DJs were entertaining, interactive, talented and overall, a lot of fun
Children's Programs
No children
Service and Staff

Overall very good. Could’ve been better, but in fairness, they seemed overwhelmed at points

Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cabin was ok. Television that “broke” repeatedly. Broken drawers. Very few outlets, leaving the bathroom with the better lighted bigger mirror out of a place to get ready to go out. Full length mirror with no outlets or lighting at all.
Prior to boarding, our initial excursion (St. John’s/Trunk Bay for the day) was canceled. We rescheduled a shortened visit to the same place, which was canceled as well. We then rescheduled a 5 hour tour of St Thomas, including site seeing, beach and shopping. 2 days before setting sail, guess what? Canceled! No options until we embarked.
Chose the Magen Bay option when on board. Ship arrived at the port late. We were told to stay away from the disembarking area until further notice, which we did. When they let us go it was past the scheduled meet time for the tour, and the tour left without us. Sidebar: likely a good thing - the “open air bus” broke down on the side of the road for 90 minutes on the tour we should’ve been on. We ended up taking a cash cab to Magen’s, and it wasn’t worth it at all. The island itself is very dirty, transportation is sketchy at best.
Schedule a discounted in-port spa day instead….
Most clean, beautiful port of the cruise. Excursion to Beef Beach, which was small, private and lovely. My only complaint is we did not have enough time here.
At this point didn’t bother getting off the ship - got in late, tenders were late, wasn’t worth the effort. Slept in and enjoyed a pool day. Folks came back and said I didn’t miss much, so,….
