Review summary

We were promise the moon under NCL Peace of Mind policy so we booked knowing that we could opt for Future Cruise Credit if we needed to cancel. When CDC upgraded Bermuda to a HIGHEST Covid Catorgory 4 we canceled our Bermuda cruise and started looking for Spring 2022 cruises. Instead of 100% Future Cruise Credit, NCL partially refunded us (we lost 652.00 per person) and our Cruise Consultant disappeared and refuses to return our calls or e-mails. Guest relations team is cold. DO NOT SAIL ON NCL

That sucks, but thats your experience. Not ok to tell others not to cruise NCL bc youre upset. If you can find in policy where what they dod was not legal, then that’s a different story and no one will be keeping my money for sure. Otherwise I always read with a fine tooth comb.

It is a shame what happened to you but...1. you should have read the cancelation policy prior to canceling or at least talked with your travel consultant to learn the ramifications. 2. Gone on the cruise and just stayed on the ship while it was in port.

You say your cruise consultant disappeared? Maybe that person took the money? Try contacting NCL directly. Not your cruise consultant. Call them and ask for a copy of their policy that was in effect at the time you canceled. Read it understand it and if you see that you should not have lost the 650 plus per person contact NCL again and see what you can do next.

Its not fair of you to downvote Bermuda and The Breakaway for your misunderstanding of NCL's policies. I'm sorry it happened that way for you but don't blame the ports and ships for your beef with the company's policies.

Sorry for your experience. I've cruised NCL and never had a bad experience. We were refunded 100 percent of our scheduled cruise of Jan. 2021. I guess the difference is we took refund instead of future cruise credit.

Sorry you had an issue. It sounds like you misunderstood NCLs policy on canceling because of Covid. The CDC did not prohibit travel to Bermuda and there is currently no requirement to quarantine after visiting Bermuda. Since the Covid cancellation policy requirements were not met, the normal cancellation policy applied. This is the policy from the NCL website: Simply put, for new and existing reservations for any voyage with an embarkation date through and including March 31, 2022, guests are free to cancel anytime up to 15 days in advance of embarkation for the following reasons: - If the local official government prohibits non-essential travel abroad. - If, after you have secured your reservation, your local government changes the travel restrictions to the destination you are travelling to and as a result you are required to quarantine upon your return home; - the local government changes the travel restrictions for the destination you are travelling to and as a result you are required to quarantine upon arrival; - the local government for the countries our sailing starts and/or ends at are closed to visitors from your country of citizenship. Anyone choosing to cancel will receive a full refund in the form of a future cruise credit applicable towards all published sailings through December 31, 2022.
