This was by far the worst vacation we have ever taken and we travel 8-10 times per year for leisure. We have never looked forward to going home from vacation before and we could not wait to get off of this ship, it was a terrible experience. We will not be cruising with Norwegian again and we had plans on purchasing cruise next deposits and booking a cruise to Alaska this coming summer which did not happen because we were so disappointed with this experience.

Food was terrible, always cold and the buffet was filthy. the specialty restaurants were slow and there were no reservations available so we were only able to use two of our dining credits.

Pool was over crowded, not enough lounge chairs ever. They only had one bar for 3k people open the majority of the time. We played Bingo once paid $207.00 for a game that was supposed to start at 4 and they did not start it until almost 4:45 allowing hundreds of other cards to be sold therefore changing the rules of gambling.

Our room's did not get cleaned all week we had the same sheets on the bed everyday and we had to help ourselves to other stewards carts for towels. the wait staff and waitors are way overworked and it shows they were all grumpy and crabby and not happy to be there not one person expect for the bartender in the ICE bar were friendly or would even say actual words to you and not just grunt back when you asked them something. They were always out of something, mint, lemon, ranch. red wine. and the wait staff in the dining areas were just as bad.

same lay out as the other Norweigan Ships we have been on, with the exception of the cleanliness the staff just did not care they walked past a plate of food laying on the floor by the elevators for 2 days before someone picked it up.
Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin size is average for a ship cabin the beds need to be replaced as there was a valley that you had to lay in and you could see the body imprints of the hundreds before you who slept in them. the shower overflowed EVERY time we showered and maintenance never came and fixed it. and our room was not cleaned all week. On day 2 the AC stopped working and we were told that there was nothing that could be done.

Horrible you might as well stay on the ship the lines for the bar take 45 min to get a drink food is not served until 11:30 and even then it is gross. don't book excursions they get cancelled and then you are told by the staff to walk out of the gates and some locals will take you where you want to go.
we enjoyed this only because we had some friends meet us here from Jamaica. Jamaica is beautiful and you cant go wrong. the cruise line could do better with the traffic getting off of the ship though we stood in a heard of people for an hour trying to get to the road.
I did not like the port we docked in I much rather enjoyed the other side of town last time we visited. There is a very sketchy area just outside the port. the shore excursion desk is not familiar with the excursions we booked the submarine and wasted 5 hours of our day to be told my son was to tall and could not go on the excursion. we spent $520.00 for 4 of us and were told by the tour company we would be refunded by the ship to find out that was not going to happen. so not only a wasted day but we are also out $520.00
We love Norwegian cruise line (NCL) we have been on Norwegian Epic Norwegian Breakaway Norwegian Jade Norwegian Bliss and we have been on the
Breakaway twice so go with a different cruise line if you want we will stay with NCL

How many times a week do you change your sheets at home a week? 🤔 Your room is not the only room they have to clean. So you didn’t get any dailies? Your bed turned down? It never occurred to you after the first day of this to call guest services and complain, but you have no problem taking the time to complain to total strangers on the internet. I find that hard to believe. I was on this same cruise and none of this is accurate other than the pool being over crowded and the review of GSC. Any pool is going to be crowded over a Holiday Cruise and you should have stayed on the ship during GSC and the pool would have been empty.
I guess try another cruise line or a different way to travel. We love cruising and sure maybe there will something that we are unhappy about but all the tings we are happy with out weighs the bad.
I read your comments several times before deciding to make this post. I will turn platinum on Norwegian on my next cruise in January. It will be my fifth cruise with Norwegian in the last 12 months. I want to say that I have never ever Head a bad experience on Norwegian. I think you should look inward about the way you feel as you do. Life‘s too short, and cruising is a great value. If Norwegian is not up to your standards, then be gone! Go spend more money to get exactly want you want. There’s plenty of luxury in the world. Find it be happy. Leave us Alone!
So sorry for your experience. We have cruise 13 times in the pass 5 years with Carnival. We have never been disappointed. Have thought about trying another cruise line. Maybe we should not change.
Who thinks their sheets should be changed more than once a week? It's not plausible that your room was not cleaned all week. Something tells me you would have complained about that.
Can't believe your terrible experience. Been on 6 cruises 4 with NCL. Stewarts have cleaned our room twice daily. Every cruise I have been on drinks have been pushed. If you had trouble getting reservations at specialty restaurants you should have made them earlier. I have my resturants reservations made for our cruise in late February. Also show reservations already made. Good news there will be a couple less on future cruises.
We didn't care for the Breakaway either, food & service was definitely sub par. Been to GSC twice on the Sun and it was an enjoyable experience, sorry you didn't have the same. As to Coz, I've been 12 times and much prefer the old downtown port area (where the Breakaway docks) to the other 2 options.
When I was on the Breakaway in May, there was a cabin across the hall from me that kept the do not disturb light on. After two days, housekeeping had security come and check the cabin to make sure everything was ok. I find it difficult to believe that no one checked your cabin for an entire week.
Look like you have done a total of 2 cruises both on the NCL Escape. Was it as bad for you the first time as this time? I have hard time believing your story and did you let the people in the reception know. I have never been on a NCL cruise where there has only been one bar open. Selling drinks is big part of how they make money. 😆
This post is so pathetic! Get a life! 1 bar open really! A plate of food by the elevator for 2 days, really!! Stay home and keep up with stories, maybe u could write a good fairy tale one day!
We never had any problem On that ship, did you go to And complain to someone other than us! They come and introduce themselves in the morning and they tell you to pick a time. Also did you hit the switch to tell them to clean your room. Personally you should not cruise it doesn’t sound like it’s a fit for you. You’re going to complain about the next cruise line!🤔🤔🤔
