Review summary

Overall, the cruise and ports were fantastic. We loved the ship, the food and the excursions. We were a little skeptical at first about booking excursions that were not part of Norwegian directly, but we had nothing but a perfect experience with both excursions we booked. The ship was beautiful, the food was excellent and the people were amazing. Roatan and Costa Maya were our favorite stops. We highly recommend this cruise!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was excellent almost everywhere we went. The buffet may have been the best of all the dining we did. They had anything you could think of, with themed dinner nights (mexican, italian, etc) The main dining rooms were good as well. Did not take advantage of the specialty restaurants.

O'Sheehan's Neighborhood Bar and Grille

5 out of 5

This was our favorite bar/restaurant on the boat. The atmosphere was great and the food was excellent. We were here everyday for at least a drink and the fish and chips were better than I've had in a long time. We'd watch some Atrium shows from the chairs that looked down into the atrium. Sit back and have a drink. This is a must for you to check out. We only did the basics like eat and drink, but the vibe is great. They have pool tables, darts and arcade games as well.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Our favorite was in the Atrium where they would have trivia, game shows, etc. We could grab a drink and watch the entertainment or join in. It was a blast. We went to the slides and ropes course and enjoyed them. Never got in the pool or hot tubs, but there were always available chairs for lounging. DJ's and bands were entertaining on the pool deck.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Stage shows in the theater were really amazing. Rock of Ages and Burn the floor were top notch. Rock of Ages was hilarious. Highly recommend both of those. Did not see any other shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service and staff were always very nice and helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Layout was great. You could always get to where you were going easily. It takes some getting used to, since it's such a big ship, but we found our way around by day 6 of 7.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was fine. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was bigger than I've seen on other ships. It was an inside room, so nothing fancy, but it did it's job.

Ship tip

My tip would be to reserve for everything ahead of time. Specialty restaurants and main dining rooms because they fill up quick. Reserve all the days at once.

Ports of call

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
This port was great. We went Ziplining, which we booked through Cruise 411 and had a wonderful experience.

Harvest Caye, Belize

3 out of 5
This port was decent. We went and laid on the beach and had a drink at the Landshark bar/restaurant. We didnt spend too much time there because we didn't feel like there was much to do besides go to the beach, pool or shop, which he had already done on the ship and at the first port. :)

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
This was another great port. We went to the Mayan ruins and had lunch with a local family that taught us how to make tortillas. This excursion was also booked through Cruise 411 and it was an amazing day. The highlight of our trip. Only note, it's a far walk from the ship to the office to pick up the bus. Like a 25 minute walk.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Cozumel was cool. We didn't do any excursions here. Walked around the immediate area, shopped and had drinks at Senor Frogs before catching a quick cab ride to Hard Rock for lunch. My wife loves Hard Rock and we visit all of them when we can. It was a nice day and everyone was friendly.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Disembarkation was smooth. A little slow but not a problem if you have a little patience.
