I have been on approximately 15 cruises...mostly Carnival and NCL. I enjoy every one, sailing in all varieties of cabins from inside to The Haven. I have always enjoyed great service and this sailing was the best off all. Extremely friendly staff throughout the ship. Food was very good. Not "amazing" but that is a plus...helps keep the weight off.

We ate only 2 meals in MDR. Both were good with good service. Buffet...also only twice but a good breakfast and lunch. Specialty restaurants overall were a disappointment. We ate at Teppanyaki. It was the best off the 4. Great chef-very entertaining. Le Bistro and Ocean Blue...both ok but nothing to get too excited about. La Cucina was our least favorite.

Because of the small children with us, we did not see too many shows. Magician was ok. Card tricks only which did nothing to hold the interest of the girls. Juggler another night was good. In my opinion...not enough upbeat music around the pool.
Children's Programs

Splash Academy was super for our 4 year old. She really enjoyed the experience. Staff very well trained, loving and patient with the kids. Very disappointed that our 2 1/2 year old could not participate in much. There was the Guppies playroom, which we went to daily for an hour or so.

Could not be better. We were in a Haven Suite and had a great butler, fantastic room steward, a very attentive concierge, etc... The staff in the Haven Restaurant was super attentive and friendly. Truly, all around the ship I have never experienced a more accommodating, friendly staff that I did this trip on NCL Breakaway.

Very good. Wish there was a middle bank of elevators on these mega ships. It is a VERY long walk sometimes.
Cabin / Stateroom

We enjoyed 9316, a Haven Suite. I cannot locate the cabin number in the section above. Everything in the cabin was excellent. The ONLY thing that I can even think of that the steward could have done differently was change the cover on the outside lounge chairs daily. They were not changed at all for the 10 days are were quite dirty with soot from the ships stacks. I am guessing had I requested, he would have.
Ship tip
If it sails out of New Orleans, know from the very beginnign to park in the lot at the Julia St. Terminal where the "Whale" mural is. We circled around for an hour in very heavy trafficasking very, rude attendents where to park before figuring this out.
As a Haven guest, it was a piece of cake. Also, a wonderful porter assisted us with our luggage all the way to the lot where we parked, which was GREATLY appreciated with 2 small children.
