With this cruise we have had four with NCL. The best all around has been the one departing from Venice and ending in Barcelona. Unfortunately, the Baltic cruise had too many issues and the weather wasn't very pleasant. We basically missed two stops of the 5 we were supposed to have. One because of rain and the other for technical reasons. But no matter, it was a loss. We will reconsider next time season and size of ship.
Embarkation

Local embarkation staff made our arrival at the ship unbearable. Totally ignorant of service to the client.

Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our ship experience at the beginning turned sour due to staff embarkation errors that led to consistent persecution by Guest Services Staff to pay our initial bills because they thought I had agreed to handle cash payments, when in fact it was the error of local staff to capture my credit card. I was really mad and upset of having to go and listen to a lot of "explanations" that did not address my problem; so far they went into pushing me around that they said they would call security. Right on a ship for a trip we paid at the end almost $5,000. Until the Chief Staff of Guest Services intervened: Gina Yunzal. She was first class in approaching the client and renwed our relationship with NCL. Please thank her for her great attitude, patience and way of sharing.

Ship tip
Take note of size of ship before you agree to buy 4,000 people were too many. We were overwhelmed with people all over and had to retire to our cabin to relax.
We had extremely bad weather. No matter how much we tried we could not get off the dock. We had planned walking visits that are appropriate for this town and they were impossible to even try to begin to get off to the road.
This was our second visit in St. Petersburg. The company we hired was excellent but was not advised that one of their clients was disabled and the rest of the tour (we were 10) suffered having to await for the procedures to move her along in a city that is not prepared for handicapped. No elevators, no side walks, no ramps. Too many tourist at the Hermitage with Asian crowds invading rooms and pushing people around. They are still far behind in manners regarding the right of others.
We regret this ship did not stop at this port since it was an important attraction to buy the cruise. Nothing was done by NCL to make up for missing this stop and it was regrettable .
