Cigarette smoke was bad in the common areas. We have been on other cruise ships and the smoke was not bothersome as it was on the Breakaway.
Cabin / Stateroom

Our stateroom was great. The only bad thing was that we could not enjoy our balcony because of the cigarette smoke came right up to our balcony from the 6,7,8 deck.
Roxannhinano's Review - Out of curiosity, which deck and side of the ship was your cabin on? We loved the Breakaway, had the same experience as you with embarkation and debarkation, and due to some health problems, avoid cigarette smoke like the plague. We were on 10 midship port side and were ok on the balcony, but will want to avoid your experience on future cruises.
