We love sailing out of New York. We hope to get two cruises in next year. We might not have enjoyed ourselves as much if we did not get the Vibe passes.
Embarkation

We arrived at the pier at 9:30, handed in our luggage and went up the elevator to the terminal. I was surprised by how many people were already in line! My husband is disabled so we were sent to a special line which was not as long. They do not open security until 10AM on the button, so it was a long 30 minutes for my husband to stand. When the line moved they sent us a different way than everyone else so we were checked in with in minutes and told to find a seat anywhere, but I knew we were supposed to go to a special area and we found it. Unfortunately,this was the week that the Coast Guard decided to do drills, so we did not start boarding until 1:15. Not NCL's fault.

Food and Dining

All the food at the main dining room and buffet was good. Nothing was spectacular. Ocean Blue was excellent both times that we went. We ordered multiple appetizers and could barely fit in any dessert. Le Bistro's was a very close second. Everyone who worked at Le Bistro's was friendly and would do what ever you asked to make your meal enjoyable.
Onboard Activities

The only thing we did was get a Cabana in Vibe. Well worth the money! Vibe is an area just for adults and does charge a fee. There are 2 hot tubs which never get over crowded and a bar with great bartenders. It is a relaxing place to take naps or just watch the ocean go by.

We did go to a magic show. It was OK. You see the same singers every day in the atruim but they were good so we enjoyed a drink while we listened to them

I cannot think of one server who did not do an awesome job, except O' Sheehan's.The bartenders do their best to keep your drinks filled. The wait staff in the main dining room all did a good job of seeing if we needed anything. O' Sheehan's waitress dropped off French Toast for me then ran off and I had to find a person coming out of the kitchen to get me syrup.
Ship Quality

The ship is getting old. It was not as clean as I remember it from my other cruises. My biggest complaint would be the time I stood waiting for an elevator. Quite a few times the elevators would just fly past the floor we were on. It would not be unusual to spend 4-5 minutes waiting for an elevator.
Cabin / Stateroom

This is a basic balcony room. It is perfect for two people. If you try to do three or four people it would probably not be any fun. We had plenty of room to store our stuff, but there was not much extra space. Our door was directly across from the elevators so we could hear the sound of the ding from the elevators if we did not have the TV on. It was a great location to be one floor up from the Waterfront, so we did not have to wait for an elevator. The room was clean and our steward was great.
Ship tip
Try to get a Vibe pass. They only sell 100 passes but it is a great place to go if you are not into the noise of the pool area.
The beach was nice. The food was good. There is a lot of construction going on so it detracted from the island because of all the fencing telling us to stay out. I did snorkle and see a few different fish which was fun.
