Review summary

This was my second time on the breakaway. I had a great time but there were several major turnoffs that would probably prevent me from going back on again.

Cabin / Stateroom

the toilet was temperamental the entire week. Each morning I would have to get the room steward Jeanette to flush the toilet. and I used the handicapped bathroom on Deck 16 twice a day for number 2. it was completely annoying, caused me anxiety and I am completely unhappy about it.

Ship tip

Its a beautiful ship with an incredible staff.

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

Or perhaps its folks who dont follow the instructions and think they are the only ones on the ship. There are over 4000 passengers, its going to take time to disembark. And its customs not immigration! And where else would you like them to put the terminal in NYC? Then people would complain because they didnt get to see the Statue of Liberty or World Trade Center if the terminal was elsewhere. ITS NYC, what can you expect??

Excuse the typos 😊

News alert, that happens on most cruise lines... coming in and off the ship. To be honest this sounds more of a 'you were ticked off' more than a serious cruise line factor not to cruise in a ship. You have to keep in mind the cruise line employees can only do so much as they are out numbered by the passengers. I'm sure the do their best to welcome us in as well as see us off. Just relax and remember the great relaxing cruise you just had that's what really important right?

We hated disembarking at New York but it had nothing to do with NCL the terminal is totally inefficient, immigration was understaffed, and the pick up area outside is poor.

But you have to love NYC!!

Debarkation: unfortunately 99% of the issues with a bad disembarking is out of NCL's (or cruise line) control. Beginning on the ship, NCL makes available color coded tags that if passengers followed would be crowded but orderly..... however as I'm sure you witnessed.... people doing self help off the ship who had no business doing it with 5 luggages, a stroller with a 5 month old in it, 2 more kids under the age of 10 who "need" to have their cute carryon luggage that is falling over and who when getting to security to leave the ship don't have their room keys with them..... then when they finally get down the gangway they struggle down the skinny escalator...... that's bottle neck number 1...... while they back up everyone else, back on the ship you have yellow cutting in line way before their color is called and others making their own path defeating the purpose of the roped area..... finally off the ship, you have that escalator holding things up again so the line is backed up in the rain and freezing cold..... then you get to your luggage and everything is a mess because everyone buys black luggage so they all look alike.... oh, then customs has 4 officers available to process 3500 passengers......

I wonder if it had anything to do with the Persistence of some of the staff in the spa.
