Review summary

Coming home. The stops were not interesting, there was very little to do. The price of the Cruise was attractive, however I found myself nickle and dimed to death, everything had a fee. Speciality dinning with the exception of Cagney's was on par with Diner Food, one Speciality restaurant had a additional $17.95 per person fee. Purchasing a bottle of Pepto cost $43.75, ( $13.75 for the Pepto, $30.00 for someone to open the door to medical and hand it to me, the other person wanted a band-aid, he was directed to a vending machine, 50 cents for two Band-Aids. The free excursion I was told I had, was actually a $50.00 credit towards a excursion. The Staff was uniquely unhelpful, most of the Staff had limited English language skills. I was very disappointed with the experience. 😡

Limited closest space, smallest I have ever seen on a cruise ship, cabin space very cramped.

Last year while in Bermuda we stopped at a pharmacy and I was looking for Aleve or something similar. They dont sell it over the counter only by script. He did offer to sell me some if i really needed it. I always keep our toiletry bag full and ready for next cruise or road trip. Just thought it odd that it wasnt OTC like it is at home.

far as the Lil first aid items...when you go on vacation anywhere else you mean you don't take any items along u may need....I carry a little first aid kit with me in my travel bag at all times no matter where I vacation at...espically on a cruise...why wouldn't you go a little more prepared...can't blame any cruise line for you not being prepared or at lease a little responsible

just sounds like you didn't do your homework and prepare your self...everything you mentioned is correct but had you done some home work you would have known that. Shore excursions are not free, you get a 50 credit at each port for shore excursions if you have that promotion. it's been like that ever since they offered that promo

I make a packing list at least a month before travel. (Some people have it saved on their PC ) . My medicine as well as cold medicine, sea sickness, etc... is on it. I check off every item as I place them in my luggage.

we loved the staff on the breakaway, it was our first time. no problems with communication at all. we just enjoyed relaxing. I guess if you cannot afford cruise excursions or the dinner and drink package cruises aren't for you. there was plenty of complimentary food. with our dinner package we got 3 specialty dinners.

I've been on the carnival victory....the name should have been changed to carnival defeat..the entire ship smelled like raw sewage, the bathroom had mildew and missing tiles in the shower, long dark hair was stuck on the shower ceiling and the food wasn't all that either...I'll stick to Ncl and possibly royal Caribbean..but thank you for constantly writing "go carnival"

Bring your own meds: Tylenol, Roland's, Dramamine etc no matter which cruise line you book. Also make sure your bring Sunscreen since it's 3 times the price on these ships.

pdittysauce    7 years ago

Last year I paid $12 for small bottle of Tylenol on Breakaway
