Review summary

My entire group was very disappointed that our cruise destination had to be changed. We kept calling prior to our travel date and time to see if we would still be able to travel to Bermuda . We were told over and over again, yes. I believe that they knew that it was an increasingly  real possibility that the hurricanes were rapidly changing their course. The trip should have been postponed .

Our port stops were horrible. The $239.00 of on ship credit per cabin was not enough compensation. We are all still waiting to hear more from the company. We were left feeling like the company just took our money and ran away with it.

Alioop- Carnival Ecstasy gave their customers the chance to reschedule with a percentage off next cruise Royal did the same and so did Disney

Evy65 ....you would have similar results with Carnival. How would they have made the ports better for you ??

The entire ship was seething.

Esm54687 people are just so angry, and it's not one or two ..I'm talking about pretty much everyone on that ship ..I'm the first one to say people only want to complain about something , but what went down last week was beyond a horrible experience.

evy65    8 years ago

No it won't but I think I will just stick to Carvinal. .

Sorry you had a bad time.  Hopefully this won't discourage you from cruising.

evy65..... if the complainers stuck to how NCL handled things from a customer service perspective then maybe you would have a few people with sympathetic ears but the minute someone decides to complain and whine that there were no excursions in Nassau or you were only there for 5 hours or Port Canaveral is a waste or etc etc etc..... then they immediately come across as entitled cry babies and any legit complaint about late notice or lack of refund etc is not heard...

This is the risk you take while going on a cruise during hurricane season.

It was 200 OBC per cabin and 29 for port charge difference. .I would of taken Canada at least it didn't get hit by a hurricane. .there was nothing to do at those ports. .no one understand we are not complaining about the change, but how the change took place.. carnival don't owe their customers anything but still offered them to cancel for full refund or stay on with 250 pp obc, and 50% off next cruise

very true.they are trying to look after the passengers and crew and they can not control the weather. Better to cruise at a better time of year or somewhere else in the world.

Get over yourself. Seriously. Dont want the chance to reroute, book in another season other then hurricane. Its all part of cruising in hurricane season. May not have been Bermuda as you booked, but at least you didn't end up on a cruise to nowhere or Canada. Take what you got and be thankful that your captain made a safe decision for the crew, ship and passenger's. And also keep in mind as you were on a floating resort safely at a port of call, many people in the islands were fighting to survive while you had food at your disposal, soft bed and shower. Not having to worry if you're house was going to flood away. Be thankful you have your life because the captain made a sound decision to reroute the cruise

Don't sail during hurricane season next time

Although postponed would be perfect. How do you postpone when thousands more are waiting to go after you? Contract is a cruise, not ports, as per the contract. Maybe trip insurance next time?
