Review summary

Never will cruise again. The Norwegian Breakaway is too big of a ship to enjoy yourself. People vacationing on ship were very rude and were like vultures. Weather was horrible, so outside activity was not enjoyable. Food on ship was not all that. My family & I all came home very sick with neuro-virus. It has been horrible. We are regretting our choice of vacation.

Btw, you booked your cruise with one of the top 10 biggest cruise ships in the world... did you not know it would be big? maybe do research next time?

There's been alot of the norovirus going around. It's unfortunate that you caught it while on board for your vacation but that's not something caused by the ship.

Don't joke about people getting sick. It's not funny and if you got sick, you wouldn't want people making fun about you being ill. The person asked a question and wanted an answer that would help.

We were on the Breakaway Oct 25 week and I am a person who washes my hands all the time but we saw so many people not and people coughing or sneezing in all kinds of areas. Neither of us came home with a cold or anything else. We ate most of the time in sit down restaurants. The weather is not the cruise lines fault that's mother nature.

We just got off the breakaway and had an amazing time! Weather wasn't great but we just made the best of it. We did our research and knew it wasn't going to be hot this time of year!!not sure why you got sick! Alot of people refused the washy washy girls! They are there for a reason.

As well as planes on occation fall out of the sky, they are not supposed to, and on ships things can go wrong, but no one can control the weather, and when Cruising in wintertime you must accept it the way it is.

I love NCL....going on Breakaway April 10....never had a bad time. This will be my 8th NCL cruise and while you always have to deal with rude people you just make the best of it...I usually just make fun of them!!!! You are on vacation...relax and have fun. From the sound of the reviewer, they probably would find bad things about winning the lottery!

It's called "rookie cruiser" who had no clue about cruising and did not do any homework ....but does Crack me up that it's the cruise lines fault for bad weather....in case you didn't realize but it was February when you cruised out of nyc...hello it's cold and middle of winter....ship was to big...hahaha bet the ice cream was to cold also....we are going on breakaway in Oct and will be our 8th ncl cruise and haven't had a bad one yet

What did you expect in New York in FEBRUARY on a 7 day cruise??? That the vacation fairy would sprinkle sunshine and pixie dust on you so you could magically have 85 degree weather in pier 88 and grant you use of the pool down the EAsT coast in the dead of WINTER?

Sorry you had such a terrible experience. We have sailed on the Breakaway 3 times, and always enjoyed it! February is not a good time to take a cruise out of New York, if you want to enjoy outdoor space on the ship. ❄️⛄️. February is usually flu season as well, so hand washing is imperative!!! Give the ship a try in the summer, so you can truly enjoy the outdoor space as well. Happy sails. 🚢

I have been on the Breakaway and enjoyed it very much. Been on many Norwegian Cruises and have been happy every time..You can NOT blame the cruise line for bad weather..... As far as getting sick, is it very typical to come home with some sort of sickness, you are in close quarters with many people plus you tend to eat and drink much more than you do at home. Maybe a cruise just isn't your thing

Try smaller ship, it will make all difference. Nora virus easily controlled by washing hands often and use of hand sanitazers.
