Review summary

The Norwegian Breakaway is a beautiful ship. We had wonderful time, the service was great, the food delicious, and most of the entertainment was superb.

Could not make a stop at Great Stirrup Cay because of the weather, winds of almost 50 miles per hour, and 20 foot waves, but the ship handle it quite well.

The entertainment was great, but the Rock of Ages shows was too "mature" for us. Not proper for a family cruise with something like 800 kids on the ship. Burn the Floor was wonderful and Le Cirque extravaganza a spectacular production.

We also enjoyed the Ice Bar, if only for 20 minutes, it was really cold, the drinks were delicious.

We would definitely go back on the Breakaway.

Ship tip

Do not miss the Le Cirque show, and make sure you get a table close to the dancing floor at the Manhattan Room, so you can enjoy the half hour performance of Burn the Floor, while having dinner.

I agree safety is most important but there seems to be a very high percentage of "captain says it's not safe" that A) makes it a legitimate observation B) question NCL decision to continue a tender system C) not offer the $50 credit as OBC or another port credit.

As far as I'm concerned, $50.00 is a small price to pay to get home safely and without injury. If the captain says its not safe...so be it!

I too wonder about NCL purposely not going to the private island. It''s a little ironic that one of their promotions is the $50 credit per port for excursions... by skipping their private island, they can save a ton of $$$ because the credit isn't issued and it's too late for the cruiser to look at the other promotions.

I've been hearing alot of people saying they were not able to go to the private island. I sail on the 13 I pray we get to go. Did they give you more time in Bahamas?
