Review summary

This was the biggest mistake I have ever made. I did not get anything that I was promised. I was supposed to receive anniversary cake on November 15, 2015 and I did not receive the cake nor the wine I purchased until the next day. There was a funky smell in our stateroom and our shower continued to back up every time we used it. We also broke out with a skin infection due too something on the ship. We have hospital bills to prove it. I am very disappointed and I did not get to enjoy my vacation, We spent everyday in our stateroom. We did not get to swim due to what our skin looked like from the infection. I am hoping a supervisor will contact me because of this. I will continue to reach out until I get my money back!! I have cruised before and did not have this experience, I spent over $2,500 between the cabin and everything we purchased. I WILL NEVER SAIL ON THE BREAKAWAY AGAIN!!

Our stateroom was so filthy it gave us a stomach virus and we broke out with a skin infection.

Our cabin smelled, even after housekeeping was finished. We tried leaving the balcony door open for some air but nothing worked, The shower backed up every time we used it. By Tuesday morning my fiancé and I broke out with skin infections and got very sick. Due to this tragedy we did not get to go to Florida, we did not get to swim at all during our vacation, and we spent most of our trip in our stateroom.

We were too sick to enjoy the island! Only went for an hour to shop a bit. I felt dizzy the entire time we were there.

The cake was a lie! Yeah i'd probably sue for punitive damages after waiting for a cheap cake thats meaningless on a boat full of food. The trip was probably your gift for the both of you but why not complain about a cake you were probably getting free anyway? We get free wine, choc covered strawberries and awesome service but thats because we treat the crew like friends instead of "the help." These cruises seem to attract people who think once they pay for the ticket they are operating at Thurston Howel levels.

If you go on a Celebrity Cruise . You wouldn't need to pay extra . Everyone gets treated like in the Haven .

I was on the same cruise. Would not recommend NCL Breakaway. If you love to smoke and gamble then it's the cruise for you.

I had a great time with my family on 11/15 - 11/22 we were a group of 7 ppl in 2 cabins it was my daughter's 1st cruise & we celebrated her 25th years old & she had a blast Everybody in my group had a great time

we've done 12 cruises, three on ncl. .ncl standard food is below celebrity but outweighed by the freestyle choices. we have no complaints with service. like many things, i think the experience largely depends on your own attitude going in. i heard many of my fellow cruisers treating the staff like dirt. even hellos from us as we passed in hallways were often ignored by cruisers, but it was offered with a smile by the staff. staff shared family pictures, gave us tips etc.

Curious to know what on the ship caused a skin infection for only you, and nobody else. What hospital, and why not go directly to the doctor right on the ship?

I wouldn't worry about the ship too much... See her other reviews. Apparently she was just plain sick on this cruise and is taking it out on the reviews of the ship and the ports. How does a hospital bill prove anything?

I'm glad you made it through that tragic ordeal , I know I would absolutely die if I didn't get a cheese tray , a cake , or a bottle of wine late I would " Fight to get a refund " and show them ! Most likely need professional counseling when I got home . PTSD

not shocked your cake didnt arrive on the 15th as the crew is swamped first day getting bags to the room. sorry you were ill. we had a grand time and will sail breakaway again, next time in the haven.

I hope you don't expect a supervisor to contact you from this post. This is not their website and they won't see this. But based on your review of ports you didn't even visit, it's hard to take your complaints seriously.
