A: I always book a balcony cabin and always need to request a coffee maker. Ask the cabin steward on the first day. They will keep it stocked with supplies during the week.

A: Single serve coffee makers are standard in suites and above. From what I have heard, you can also request one from your room steward and if they are available you can get one. There are no regular coffee pots anywhere.

A: Depending on the cabin you booked. From balcony cabins and up it is standard available. Could be stored in the closet. Inside cabins and Oceanview don't have one but if you ask your room steward they might bring you one. It's not a pot but those one-... cup dripping coffee makers with paper coffee pods.See More

Q: when in a port for the day. how long before the ship sails do you have to be back on board? going on the breakaway in september.

A: Usually back on board time is 1 hour prior to sailing. Check with Security as you leave the ship for actual time required back on board. This time can vary depending on the port.

Q: We are lucky enough to have booked a Haven room. We usually buy water bottles before we get on the ship and they are waiting in our room. Does the Haven supply free water bottles or will I have to purchase them?

A: buy the cheap cartons of water. I absolutely loved being in the Haven and have done it again since my first time...but it surprised me was the butler thing is a little gimmicky and it was pulling teeth to get him to give us Diet Cokes... we bought t... he case of water the first day. your going to love this and might not be able to go back!See More

A: unless you are in an owners suite, being in a Haven room will get you 2 bottles of water. that is it. you will need to either purchase water, do the premium plus beverage pkg or bring a refillable water bottle.

Answer QuestionA: I just got off the Breakaway 3 weeks ago. They charge for bowling and darts. The only free activities are the water slides and ropes course.

A: I think I remember the darts being about one dollar per game, and you just slide your cruise card and it gets billed to your room.

A: We always go to Paradise beach club and have a wonderful time. It’s a quick cab ride from the dock and has a heated pool, restaurant/bar and a beach!

A: We asked this question before and we were told that it’s the best part of the cruise. Yeah it’s a bit pricey but consider not fighting for chairs, not feeling like cattle for a prime spot to relax. Side note, we upgraded from just accessing the beac... h club to having a personal cabana for the week. It’s only $100 more than you would pay for the beach club. Here is the upside: with the cabana reserved, we don’t need to go early and put downs and our stuff on a chair. We can just enjoy breakfast or a workout and then stroll up to vibe when we are ready for sun. I anticipate we will spend most days up there.See More

A: The vibe is absolutely wonderful. No children around, your own bar with great bar bartenders. You have to book quickly. We are going June 2nd, we have the vibe with a cabana and I believe on our cruise it's already sold out.

Q: we have always cruised carnival, because it was a family vacation. looking at NCL, Breakaway. for 2025, what's the pros and cons of NCL and Carnival. have read some bad reviews.

A: We will board the Breakaway for the fourth time, in a month. Will take a fifth cruise on it in March. Great ship! We love NCL! We’ve also cruised Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and Holland America. NCL Breakaway is an elegant ship. The dining rooms are t... op notch. NCL is the only cruise line with a 24hr eatery. O’Sheehan’s has a wonderful pub menu (my fav is the fish & chips). It also has a great breakfast menu. And when prime rib is served in the dining room, it’s also served at O’Sheehans. The shows are Broadway quality, though we disliked their show Sixx and the one in the Speigel tent. Not our taste. Burn the Floor is excellent. The adult area (H2O) is free. There’s a ropes course, and rock climbing wall. We have stayed in an inside cabin, a family oceanview cabin with a tub/shower combo, aAnd a balcony cabin (there are coffee pots in this category cabin. The coffee pot uses the little pods made with filter paper. (NOT plastic K-Cups) We gladly recommend the Breakaway!! 🚢❣️🚢❣️🚢See More

A: We 🩵LOVE💙 NCL!! We’re going on the Breakaway for 3rd time this October 2024 to Bermuda. My hubby is a workaholic, not a fan of vacations, but cruising NCL out of Manhattan (hour drive from house on Long Island) to Bermuda to stay 3 full days & 3 nigh... ts is PERFECT! We love the Free @ Sea packages and everyone on boat is wonderful, as is food. Try them, you won’t be disappointed 😉. ENJOY!!See More

A: Carnival has many more old ships. NCL Breakaway is much newer than the Carnival ship(s) that sail from New Orleans.

A: Was not a fan of not having more than the buffet and osheehans as included food options. There’s no poolside food options. I don’t like having to make reservations for shows. Venues are too small for comedy and syds is way too small for music highlig... ht bands.See More

A: They are all pretty similar but each have a different focus. It seemed on the Breakaway, they made it easy for smokers. They could just go in a “box” on the main deck with plexiglass side strip (between knees and head). Of course the smoke didn’t sta... y inside the strips. If you like smoke, you will love the Breakaway. Other than that, I enjoyed it. Food was good, learn all the places to eat. Cruise Director wasn’t very good.See More

A: NCL is freestyle this it’s not necessary. They do have a dress your best night and some folks dress and take photos. All depends on what you prefer.

A: I was on the Breakaway for New Year's 2019. They decorated the ship very nicely with Christmas Trees throughout.They also had impressive gingerbread villages in several areas. Do expect it to be extremely crowded during Holiday times. Even though... that was pre pandemic, ships are back to 100 percent and then some.See More

A: I sailed from NYC on The NCL/Getaway 12/22 on New Years Eve & had a blast! Beautiful Christmas decor throughout the ship, nice dinner & show and a great NYE countdown party at The Atrium. I’m pretty sure The Breakaway will be tons of fun as well.... Happy cruising 🤩⚓️😎❣️‼️See More

Answer QuestionA: If it's as tiny as it is on the Viva, which I am on now, it's the most ridiculous venue I have ever been in or tried to get in. I can't imagine why NCL would design a venue that small and have bands inside. It barely has seating for a game of trivia... .See More
