Review summary

This journey on Nowegian Bliss through the Panama Canal was far and away my best Cruise experience thus far. The Haven afforded me the opportunity for a quiet, peaceful and very comfortable trip. I enjoy the isolation a great deal. On vacation I appreciate the absolute freedom to be interactive with others on my own terms. This Cruise let me do that in an extraordinarily lovely setting with beautiful views of a beautiful world

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Enjoyed Cagney's the most, but Le Bistro and Ocean Blue are also to my liking. I was a regular for early morning breakfast at Garden Cafe.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Early morning walks are my thing. There were plenty of sunrise regulars who clearly felt as I did. I got to know the early morning ship's crew as well.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff, especially those interacting with guests, were engaging, interesting and generally very kind. My favorite persons were my bartender and my room steward. They knew what they were doing and made me always feel welcomed.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Bliss is a beautiful ship. Everything on the vessel reflects great care and attention.

Cabin / Stateroom

Extremely comfortable. plenty of storage space. Clean, comfortable and spacious bathroom

Ship tip

If you are able to book a room in The Haven on Bliss, you owe that to yourself at least once!

Ports of call

Cartagena, Colombia

4 out of 5
I have been to Cartagena three times in this life, in Winter and in Summer. The colonial walled city is very attractive and historically interesting, but the weather is ALWAYS hot and humid!!!

Miami, Florida

Falmouth, Jamaica

The Jamaican authorities did not allow ship travellers to explore the area, except through excursions booked on Norwegian: a distinct bummer.

Colon, Panama

5 out of 5
I had the benefit of receiving a tour of the city and the area from friends. The effects of the American construction of the Canal on Panama endure for the well being and detriment of the region.

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica

Panama Canal Transit

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Found an inexpensive and clean Spa for a 75 minute massage (a fraction of Norwegian Spa rates)

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quite honestly, after 7 or so previous cruises, disembarking was NEVER easier than it was on this cruise.
