I was always loyal to NCL but after cruising on the Bliss i may well have to look into another Cruise Line. Too much upsell. The activity list included more ads for the auctions & Effy than actual entertainment.
Embarkation

Slow & disorganized
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Dining rooms were ok. Speciality was obviously better. Buffet was a disaster. The kept re-using the same food for lunch as dinner, but just calling it by a different name.... EVERY day...EVERY DAY
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Mini-golf was non-existent. Karting was closed half the time as was laser tag--and not just for the weather. Slides & pools were very nice. Also great to have an adults only section.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
What entertainment? Same 2 shows over & over. The Bliss' sound system was sub-par which probably made the shows unbearable, walked out after 30 minutes.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
It was ok. The gem & the dawn do it MUCH better
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Room steward was exeptional. Most of the staff were ok, again not like the other ships... Personally I think they were less pleasant because they are overworked.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Very nice. Observation deck was gorgeous, a treat.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
It was a pretty room. Comfortable for 2 people.
Ship tip
Try to get a refund. Go on another ship. Spoke to many people - and most were unhappy but trying to make the best out of a crappy situation. We paid a LOT of money & most certainly didnt get our moneys worth.
You must have been on a completely different NCL Bliss than we took to Alaska in September 2019. The shows, Jersey Boys and Six were fantastic. The food in the specialty restaurants were some of the best we’ve had on any ship. We only ate in the MDR once because we ate in specialty dining the rest of the time, food there was just ok, service was very slow. The ship was beautiful. We still prefer RCCL, but would definitely sail on the Bliss again if the opportunity should present itself.
Sounds like cruising isn’t for you since you didn’t enjoy much of anything, including the ports. Cruising during the busiest week of the year probably didn’t help.
