Norwegian Bliss

8 Night Bahamas & Florida (New York Roundtrip)

Sail date: December 28, 2019

Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

While we usually love Norwegian, and cruising, this was the worst experience we have had. All because the ship is so big, they struggled with accommodating everyone, it was too overcrowded and very challenging to get around, and get on elevators. We all got sick too, and had to see doctors when we got home. We all had bronchitis.

They told us to come 3 hours late to dock to board, then we had a 3 hour delay to leave.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Food portions was so small in specialty restaurants, many of the specialty restaurants were already booked and filled, buffet had limited hours of operation and closed doors so you couldn't even get a drink from the fountains.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Had good activities, but so overcrowded so hard to enjoy all. Loved the adult only area on the back of deck with hot tubs!

4 out of 5
Shows were ok they are usually better. But unless you pay for the specialty shows, you don't have one to see every night like they use to have.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was wonderful, and even though many were sick or recovering from being sick on the previous week they did well trying to not let this affect this cruise.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
You can see them trying to keep up with cleaning this ship due to the many people who wee sick prior. The ship was pretty clean when we got on, however, three 3 out of 4 of us got sick anyway and had to go to doctor/hospital when we returned.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We loved our room and our steward took very good care of it.

Ship tip

This is a very big ship and they overcrowd it. But they have pools, a go car race track, and many fun things to do.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5
We visited family in Florida.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

1 out of 5
This was too overcrowded. There were 3 ships and there was not a seat to be found on the beach. Many people upset and angry. Long lines and waits to get drinks and food on this island.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Still the same after all these years. And a lot of construction going on right by the port.
