Review summary

This was our first Norwegian cruise and anytime dining. We didn't particularly like anytime dining. Missed having the same staff every night and getting to know them. We travel in a group of 10 and we never had a round or oval table which made it harder to catch up on our day. The promenade deck was small ( comparing it to Liberty of the Seas Royal Caribbean) The cruise director and his assistant were fantastic! Loved the activities they provided. It was an easy ship to navigate but definitely needs larger entertainment areas for seating.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This was by far the easiest embarkation I've ever experienced

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Teppanyaki was the best restaurant on the ship Everything else was good but not exceptional when considering that if you had to pay for the upgrades you might as well eat in the main dining rooms

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The adult pool was very nice. I just wish it was on a different area of the ship so that it wasn't by the kids pool.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Our group didn't enjoy Havanna. That said we really liked Jersey Boys. The Atrium is far too small for everyone to enjoy the entertainment offered there. It should be in another theatre. Comedy club was great but again too small. Not enough seating in the bar areas especially when there is entertainment. Loved the silent disco.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room was kept immaculate but we only saw our room steward once. I found the staff very nice and accommodating.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Norwegian Bliss is a beautiful ship. Loved the observation level. Would be fabulous going to Alaska. Everything was kept very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was lovely. A great size and a wonderful bathroom.

Ship tip

If you spend any time in your cabin opt for a balcony. Our friends with an inside cabin only had a bed and a desk. Not even a couch to sit on.

Ports of call

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

3 out of 5
We opted to take a taxi to the Malecon and wander around. A typical Mexican tourist town

Mazatlan, Mexico

4 out of 5
Mazatlan was a nice city to visit. Took a taxi into the market then walked to the Malecon where we hopped on a golf cart and had a tour of the city. It was only $15 US for an hour for 4 passengers. It was exceptional and we tipped him well. If you eat at El Muchacho Alegre DO NOT use a credit card. Ours said declined 3 times and then our friends paid. We contacted Visa and they had actually charged us 3 times. Thankfully, Visa gave us our money back.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We opted to carry out our own luggage. Very easy disembarkation

Thanks for your review. I’m traveling with a group in a couple weeks. Did your group have reservations? I want to make sure that we have the best experience possible. Thanks!
