Review summary

Ship was supposed to go to Mexican Rivera. Due to a Hurricane, we were diverted to San Francisco, San Diego and Ensenada. Needless to say, we were not dressed for the cold weather in San Francisco. We should have been given the option to take the cruise while in port. We are certain they knew that they were not going and decided to inform us an hour out of the harbor. I guess profits vs a loss of profits that dictated what they did. Management is not willing to work with any of our 18 passengers. The ship is new and nice. Had some issues with cleanliness of the cabin upon arriving and the lack of personality of one of the dining room waitresses. Other than that, the food was good, shows were excellent and plenty to do on board. Many of us never got off the ship, as a number of people lived in San Francisco and San Diego in the past and had no desire to revisit them.

Ship tip

Cabin is a little cramped. The distance from the bed to the wall forces you to walk sideways. Shower is nice with its own door.

So if you had been informed before getting on the ship, would your decision to board have changed? If so, keep in mind you not only would have not received a refund, you wouldn't have sailed ANYWHERE. I totally understand your disappointment, but how would knowing an hour before have helped you as a passenger (or potential passenger)? I'm sincerely interested in your response....

Goodness gracious! How happy would you have been had the captain decided to sail into the center of the hurricane putting everyone on board at peril? Every cruise line contract states that it is possible to have port changes for reasons beyond their control. You still took the cruise and spent the time of the ship. What was it you expected management to do? Refund your cost? Give you a new cruise?

Better safe than sorry! Weather is not in the control of NCL.

When you sign up for a cruise it states right in the contract that they can change ports and no refunds or compensation.
