Review summary

Easy summary... you gotta take this cruise although it will only sail this year two or three times more.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
NCL has their act together. Getting on the ship was as smooth as any cruise we have taken. The schedule times to board and people seem to adhere to those times. I don't think it took us more than 45 minutes from the time we got to the pier till the time we had our first drink

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We ate mostly in the specialty dining rooms loved Cagneys and the Italian restaurants. Two of the five of us had bad meals at ocean blue and while they tried to make them right they fell short. I absolutely hated Los (something) the Mexican restaurant it just was not up to par. Believe it or not the Garden Cafe buffet the food there was always good and well serviced. An atta-boy to the Cafe.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We really did not participate in onboard activities the only one we signed up for was the race cars and the day we were scheduled to go it was raining and winding so hard they had to cancel. We attended two wine tastings and both were handled by the head wine steward, sure that is the wrong title, and he did an outstanding job. If you like wine go. A bit pricey $20ish but we felt worth it.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We went to two shows The Jersey Boys and Prohibition we all loved both of them. They are outstanding shows and if you go we highly recommend them. There is a charge for Prohibition $10 I think but that gives you 5 drinks yes we left buzzed.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We have done a lot of Carnival and our one comment was the staff on NCL outshines Carnival hands down. We did not run into even one person who did not seem to enjoy their jobs and were always there to please the customer. This was our second NCL cruise and it won't be our last in fact we are doing the southern Carribean in January.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I thought the design was good however this ship is huge and my poor old legs felt it. However once one figures out the layout it is easy to navigate. One negative comment is the elevators I don't know what they could do about them there are plenty but we always felt we were waiting for an elevator and they were always full. One way cars perhaps. Cleanliness goes along with the crew they are the reason the ship is always so clean.
