Beware masks will be required throughout this cruise. Even though we went through all the protocols of producing vaccination records and a Covid test within 72 hours of our sail date we received an email from HAL the day before sailing that everyone on board would be required to wear masks throughout the cruise with the exception of drinking and dining. Not what we signed up for.

Holland America never disappoints. Excellent service and very good food. Very clean.

Service and staff were very good. I've sailed Holland America many times before. Apparently the company is trying to economize. So many little things now missing(fresh fruit and flowers in Neptune Suites, New York Times,books in the library, smaller meal.portions,etc)

The itinerary, food and service is superior to other cruises we have been on and more than makes up for the lack of cruise entertainment.

First HAL cruise (45th cruise). Expectations for ship experience were not met. Itinerary was great. Probably won't do HAL again.

The cruise to Alaska was our fourth cruise, overall. I’d also say it was our best cruise. We spent the extra money for a suite and did not regret the decision one bit. The staff was fabulous and the deals we received on Effy jewelry on the ship was phenomenal. Effy is sold in Saks 5th Ave. and Macy’s however when purchasing on ship you’re buying directly from the manufacturer so they were able to be a little more flexible with the pricing. If I were to do this cruise over again I would set sail earlier in the summer. Although the scenery in September was beautiful, it also rained quite a bit.

At first I was a little hesitant to take a cruise on our way back from Alaska. Now I glad we opted for that, the sailing days were full with interesting activities; the ports of call were thoughtfully selected, all very interesting. The ship was in excellent condition and the crew was outstanding. A very nice experience indeed!

The excursions we took were okay, I think they're overpriced. The Juneau food tour was expensive for what you got. I would have prefered eating a whole crab at Tracy's King Crab Shack than what we got for what we paid. The dinner whale watching cruise was mediocre. We saw just as many whales from the ship & the food was terrible. Probably should have taken the non food whale watching tour but thought it was going to be great local food. Again, I know there are issues coming off Covid.

Excellent cruise overall. Great weather for most of the cruise and our land trip after.

Noir dam is a good size ship, not too big. A chance to meet and revisit with many passengers. Clean and well maintained. Service was very good. Biggest flaw was the food...

Overall, this was an excellent trip. We like sea days and had plenty of them. Ports were good for the most part, with some better than others. Food, crew, staff and atmosphere on the ship were superb. HAL is more like cruising should be instead of the mega-ships that want to bring amusements and the town atmosphere to sea instead of emphasizing the cruise aspect.

Except for our experience with you medical personnel and the embarkation process it was a good cruise.

Our family of 4 went on the cruise from Alaska to Vancouver, something I had wanted to do my entire life growing up in Alaska. I moved away to college 30 years ago and then on to the East Coast. I went back with my family so they could see it with me. The scenery and cruise far exceeded all of my expectations. It was my first cruise and I had heard various thoughts on cruises in general on various cruise lines and destinations. This cruise was excellent in every way, on the ship and off. I recommend it whole heartedly to everyone.

We have cruised extensively. This was our 5th HAL cruise. Compared with previous cruises, I think that the overall quality of HAL was lower. Food at the main restaurant was disappointing, both in quality and selection, especially lack of vegetarian options. The restaurant was 1/2 empty for the late seating. Perhaps other guests also found the food not very attractive. Staff were helpful and attentive, but there's little they can do to improve the food. Haines is a poor choice for a visit. Skagway is where the action is. There are many tour choices at each city along the cruise. We found the selection great, prices more reasonable than through reservations, and the quality good with only one exception (the hike and float in Skagway).

I had a wonderful time. The optional excursions (river rafting, whale watching, and flightseeing) made it even more memorable.

We were not cruise people prior to this, but this one won us over. True to prior reviews, Holland America caters to more of a senior crowd, which was great for us. The service, food and activities were fantastic.

We were very pleasantly surprised by our experience on this ship. Despite our laughter at some of the decorating choices made back in the nineties, the crew and the procedures on this ship are top notch.

Overall we had a wonderful experience on Holland America and based on ecological and environmental guidelines the ship went to sleep at Midnight. It cost a lot but do the helicopter to a glacier and two mile hike

Pretty good cruise overall. See comment above regarding deck chair noise in 8147 from the Lido deck. Service seemed a bit less than we've encountered on other Holland America cruises. Still very good but somewhat inconsistent (except the Pinnacle Room and Bar).

This was our first cruise with Holland. We had the good fortune of sailing with a superior captain who knew how to motivate his staff. All crew encounters were pleasant. Your folks actually seemed happy to be aboard. The cigar room was a gem!!!!!!!!!!
