Review summary

The maintenance of this ship was continuous and exceptional. The crew made every effort to please all those who sailed with them. The only distraction was the smoke that one encountered and could not avoid in parts of the ship.

The architiecture of this city is awe inspiring. It is a huge city of approximately 4 million population contained in a relatively small space.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

The City of Lovorno offered little to cruisers, We had been to Florence before and new its beauties. It requires more then a brief stay. Once you have leaned with the tower in Pisa it is time to move on.

Palermo, Sicily

Another one of the highlights of the crusie. A beautiful and well maintained city. It was a place one wanted to linger. The timing of our arrival was not good in that it was the date of a national holiday and much was closed.

La Goulette (Tunis & Carthage), Tunisia

I would suggest deleating this stop in exchange for more time at other ports. Although historically significant the port offered little. It was very hot and very dirty. The povery of the region was apparent.

Monte Carlo, Monaco

An excursion to Nice and Eze where some of the highlights of this cruise. Exceptional sights, markets, wine and cheese are etched in our memories. Monte Carlo was significantly closed down in anticipation of a festival that did not start until our departure.

Naples, Italy

The City of Naples was one of the disappointments of the trip. It was very dirty, covered with graffitti and offered little to the visitor. Trips to Pompei were well recived.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

Another one of the highlights of this cruise. The king of spain was vacationing in Palma when we were there. It is a place I would like to spend more time.

Pros: The ship, the accommoctions and the food were exceptional

Cons: Smoking was allowed on the ship

Recommends Noordam? Yes!
