Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining room had good food and service. I suggest getting a smaller table if you share with others. When we got seated at tables of 8 or 10 our meal took 2 hours We ate lunch at the Pinnacle Grill one lunch. The food was excellent as well as the service. Lunch is a great value. I did not dine in the Lido I had lunch at the dive in once and the NY deli once. Both were very good for the fast foods they served ( burgers dogs and pizza) My favorite spot for coffee and lunch was the Grand Dutch Cafe. The coffee is excellent and the service was super friendly. Nathalie and Christine greeted me with smiles and knew my name and order by the second day. Lunch items of pea soup, quiche, ham sandwich and apple pie and bossche bol for dessert were outstanding.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I enjoyed going to the fitness center and working out myself. There was a charge for yoga and other classes so I skipped them. I also enjoyed walking on deck 3 on the morning. I went to the pool daily in the back of the ship since there was more sun and chairs than the pool in the front. My wife enjoyed the origami and flower arrangement classes which were free

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The main stage productions were good but i especially enjoyed the Lincoln Center stage (string quartet), Billboard Onboard (dueling pianos sing along) and rock and roll shows. I usually enjoyed 2 or three shots every evening

Children's Programs

I did not have children and did not look into what was offered

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room stewards were excellent. Gus and Neyomen introduced themselves on the first day and cleaned our room quickly and well each day. The always greeted us by name and liked chatting with us each time we passed by. The guest services personnel were excellent. I stopped by since our safe was locked when we arrived and she went immediately with me up to the room and unlocked it. On another occasion, my wife wanted to buy a vase that was only sold on 2 days. She immediately called the florist who was selling them and a few minutes later he was delivering it to our room. The service in the dining rooms and bars was good except when we had large tables and then it was slow

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was adorned with much art work, but it was more modern than I cared for. I enjoyed the traditional Dutch paintings on other ships we had been on. The maintenance was very good and I saw them cleaning public spaces every morning when I got up at 6:30 am

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I liked our cabin location and it was relatively quiet. It was not large but not too small either. The shower was spacious so you didn’t bump into the glass or walls. Storage space was good. It was very clean and everything was in working order

Ship tip

Enjoy time in the Grand Dutch Cafe. The cream puffs are served at 11:30 and gone by 11:50 so get one. They are big enough to share
