Review summary

Loved the cruise on the Nieuw Statendam. The shows were great. The music entertainment with BBC King was great. People love to dance with the BBC King band an many were at the shows every night. I also like that Holland America provides a Catholic priest on board with daily Catholic mass. There was good attendance throughout the week.

Food for most part was excellent, dining rooms clean in MDR, Caneletto and Lido Marketplace. Service was also good from the dining stewards

Onboard Activities

Participated in many of the activities but too many to get to all. Several presentations in the World Theater including with Meet the Captain. game shows, BBC Earth.

Entertainment

Stage shows introduced two new shows with new concept with dance only but with themes, Enjoyed BB King Blues, Lincoln Center stage and the Rolling Stones Rock

Children's Programs

Did not have any children with me but I noticed how orderly the children were around the ship.

Service and Staff

One of the reasons why I continue coming back to Holland America is the service from dining room, cabin stewards and staff is their consistent excellent service. Two of the Lido Marketplace stewards remembered me from the Eurodam in April 2018. A great reunion!

Ship Quality

Brand new ship with new car smell. Beautiful layout, artwork. Decks, thermal spa, theater are all beautiful and we'll maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin and balcony seemed smaller than on Oosteram but it was nice. On the Oosterdam I was in a Signature suite and we had night lighting in the bathroom. Not on the Nieuw Statendam. I did like how the toilet seats gradually go down. The don't slam closed.
