Review summary

We went in Dec and then again in March. Significant difference with the added shows and ability to visit ports.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth and easy. Barely any lines and if there was they were always moving. My 4 year old had to take a rapid before embarkation and that took about 30 minutes to wait before we were clear to board.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Windjammer - food was good for a buffet. Staff always walking around to serve drinks and clear table. Steakhouse - outstanding. Can’t go wrong with filet minon and my husband had the New York strip. Jaimes - our favorite. I was expecting good Italian food. Was not prepared for the best Italian food I’ve had outside of Italy. We enjoyed the truffle balls and truffle pasta and. Lamb chops were the best I’ve ever had.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Our 2 little boys loved going to Adventure Ocean kids club. We had more date nice in one week than we’ve had in 2022. Date nights included Jaimes Italian, steakhouse and shows at the Royal Theater skate show, Magic show, comedy show and Showgirls. The pools were nice but the kids play area could use a little help. They’re more for toddlers than they are for kids 6 and up. So the kids take up the pools and hot tubs. If they beefed up the kids pool play area they may actually stay there.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We loved the shows we attended - Comedy show, magic show, skate show and show girls.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Great staff. They keep the kids entertained and kids love going back to meet up with their new friends. They make great friends and see one another around the ship and on excursions. They’re always clean and there are always kids in the room. The staff are educated and experienced in childcare.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room steward was great. He was always around the hall greeting us because he was always cleaning a room. He never skipped a beat, rooms were cleaned when we were at breakfast and turned down when we were at dinner.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is in great condition. Although not the newest they maintain it very well and keep it clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
9694 is a spacious 2 bedroom suite with an aft balcony. The master suite was similar to a standard balcony room and connected with a living space, dining area and an inside cabin that was the 2nd bedroom. There were also 2 bathrooms with one having a standard size bathtub. The other had the standin shower. Beautiful room that I highly recommend if you have 4+ guests. The living room couch pulls out into a bed and can fit 5th and 6th guest.

Ship tip

Book excursions early. We enjoyed the Beach break excursion in Puerto Vallarta. It brought us to a resort about 30-40 min away in a clean coach bus. The resort had an infinity pool and beach front. It’s a quiet resort and most of the visitors that day were from Royal Caribbean Navigator or Carnival Panorama. Lots of fun especially for the kids.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Just like embarkation they keep it moving! Quick and easy.
