Review summary

This is our 24th cruise not all with Royal Caribbean. We have been on two cruises now that the ships have started sailing and prefer Royal Caribbean due to the cleanliness of the ships. You don't feel like you have a cattle prod pushing you from one end to the other while on board and there is lots to do if you want or just relax if you want. This trip was just to decompress and do nothing and we really enjoyed it.

Embarkation

Very easy, no wait, walked right on ship to first cocktail.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Buffet was horrible, staff was great. Specialty restaurants were okay, not worth the extra though. Staff again was great. The drinks were interesting, we purchased the package for the first time and they were making two drinks out of one shot so very weak. There is a seafood restaurant on board called Hooker's and it was fair, not fantastic, portions were small though, four pieces of shrimp, small dried out piece of white fish and half a portion of a lobster tail. A bit disappointing but they are coming back from the Covid shutdown.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Hot tubs were the best and the pool was fantastic. Very clean.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room service was on time, waiters, room steward and everyone I met was friendly, greeted us and on point. Only had one surly bartender who seemed to want to be anyplace but behind the bar.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was very clean, everything easy to find, not run down.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was great. Asked and received an extra pillow, slept with the balcony door open all night. Very quiet. Bathroom was great but no extras except a bar of soap and a shampoo/body wash in shower. Miss the lotion and conditioner. Lots of storage space in the closet and dresser. Again very clean.

Ship tip

Enjoy yourselves, people watch and have lots of fun.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

flew in day of sailing

Ensenada, Mexico

3 out of 5
A bit overpriced to get to the downtown area. Bus guides push for the tours. About the 10th time we have been to Ensenada and hasn't changed a bit.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Can I say Wow! very smooth disembarkation.
