Review summary

This was a very enjoyable vacation. I am already shopping for my next cruise. The ship is nicely refurbished. The things that were left out of the refurbishment will not be noticed, trust me. It is a wonderful and fun ship. We didn't do any specialty dining on this ship, but we will be doing this the next time. Also, wait until the last day at sea to buy souvenirs from the gift shop if you plan to do so. The sales were 1. t-shirts for $10 each and 2. buy four $10 accessories get one free. Accessories included purses, shawls, wallets, etc.

Embarkation

From curbside drop off, luggage check, security clearance, photo, to walking onto the ship was 15 minutes. The port staff was efficient in keeping everyone moving with smiling faces.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The Windjammer was often crowded, but we never had to wait for a table. Nachos by the pool were delicious. The main dining room was top notch service on formal night. Cafe Promenade was a favorite for between meal snacks, but this line was always long. Starbucks was just a delicious bonus and worth every penny.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The Escape Room was unexpectedly fun for all of us. (Availability is very limited. Book before you get on the ship or you will not get in.) The sports deck had plenty for everyone...even an unexpected archery tournament. The fitness center was focused on function and germ reduction. It was much larger than expected. Pools were a bit small for the amount of passengers.

Entertainment

Whatever you do, do not miss the ice show. This was also way above what we originally expected.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
My 14 yr old son was on this trip. There seemed to be a lot of fun things planned for pre-teens and teens. However, on the three visits that my son made to the teen area, the door was locked. I couldn't help him out because the entrance is "hidden" and parents are not allowed. There were teens in the teen outdoor area, but they didn't offer any help. This was a bit challenging for kids that are not outgoing.

Service and Staff

Our room steward, Loreine, was AMAZING. She met all of our requests and even took care of some things that we didn't need to ask for. She was always smiling and engaging with all of the guests.

Comfortable for three people.

Ship tip

Free style machines are on deck 5 near Cafe Promenade and in Windjammer. To get to helipad for sailaway go to deck 4, walk all the way forward and climb the stairs. Can't get from aft to forward on decks 2 and 3...you must take elevator to 4 (5 if you don't want to walk through casino smoke) and then go aft or forward.

Fun, but so unbelievably hot...prepare for the sun and the heat.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

Oasis Lagoon and wave pool are not to be missed. Chicken sandwich was really good. We also had thrill park tickets, but you can really enjoy the island without the tickets.

Nassau, Bahamas

We did the Segway Tour from Blue Lagoon Island. The tour was of the island so we were able to see some wildlife, interesting island stops, and a trip to the tower at the end. We LOVED every minute of the segways. My husband and my son have been shopping for one ever since the trip. If you do this tour, take an insulated cup of ice and/or water to keep in the locker for the end of the tour. Water is provided, but it warms up fast in the Caribbean heat, and a cool drink at the end is very refreshing.

Disembarkation

We self-debarked and used our passports, so it was smooth and quick. If you don't self debark or you are traveling with a birth certificate, you will have to stand in long lines that we were able to bypass.
