Review summary

This is a party ship. We selected it for a family cruise since it had the onboard activities for the grandchildren that are not available on our normal cruise line.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Too many guests boarded between 11am and 1pm. Cabins were not available until 1pm and everyone was crowded with their bags into the buffet.

Ship experiences

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Grandchildren used the activities. My wife and I found a quiet unused lounge on Deck 14 where we could chill out.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The singers and dancers were very skilled however, the subject matter of their performances were too sexually explicit for a family cruise. I saw many parents taking their children out of the theater during the performance. RCI needs to place a "sexual content" alert on their daily program listings.

Ship tip

Be prepared for large crowds since there are 3,900 guests.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Great for shopping. Minimal sightseeing.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

4 out of 5
We were there at the same time as Majesty of the Seas. That placed over 6,000 guests in the island which overwhelmed some of the facilities.

Most people of the shorter cruises tend to have more of a party atmosphere. Try a 7 day or longer cruise for a better experience. Traveling when school is in session is even better, but may not be possible for the grandkids.
