Review summary

I truly enjoyed the amplified Navigator of the Seas and hope I get a chance to go on more amplified boats in the future to compare this experience to.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Smooth and hassle-free. I would like to try upgrading to The Key next time to see what that experience is like.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Windjammer exceeded my expectations. The bartenders in the Windjammer were some of the best on the ship. Dining room food selection and attention to food allergies was great. My only issue was having my family of 14 split into 3 tables and having to negotiate to get us on 2 tables (10 on a table meant for 8, and a table of 4).

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Enjoyed the layout of the pools and hot tubs, but found the pools extremely salty that one shouldn’t try opening their eyes underwater. Rock climbing wall was challenging - there wasn’t a beginner’s track unfortunately. My kids enjoyed the water slides. The fitness center was great - only wished there was a more affordable (perhaps free) yoga session. The 9-hole course was reasonably challenging; I would’ve enjoyed 3 more holes rather than the extra lounge chairs around it that didn’t seem used enough.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our waiters (Kersley and Angelo)and room steward (Christy) were so attentive and truly caring. They were the highlight of all the service we experienced on the ship.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Layout was intuitive and the touchscreens near elevators was a great touch to assist with way-finding. Would have liked the area outside of the Casino on the 4th deck to be better ventilated. It seemed unnecessarily smoky around that entrance, and particularly unfortunate as families were asked to wait nearby by the photographer who was taking photos at the stairway right in front.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Size was great for a family of 4. There was ample room for sleeping and moving around. No fighting for space to get ready. I would do a room like this again.

Ship tip

To make the Refreshment Package worth your money, be sure to ask for a bottle of water with each order. Make sure to try all of the non-alcoholic drinks and specialty coffees you can.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It was quite quick and organized. I think it would have been nice to get the same level of explanation for the rendering process as we got for the disembarkation process.
