Review summary

So many reviews tell about the nightmare at the Galveston Port, but this is our second cruise from there and both times it's been smooth sailing (pun intended). We haven't had to wait but maybe a few minutes each time.

Our Stateroom was ready at 1:00 just as we were told.  Elishah was our Attendant and was right on top of any request we had of him and he kept our room clean and ready for us all the time.

Food on the Navigator was great also,  We didn't do any of the specialty restaurants as we didn't see the need to.  We really enjoyed the Windjammer for breakfast and lunch and the Main Dining Room for dinner.  Hepburne and Nur were our Waiter and Assistant Waiter and they kept our glasses full and were always accommodating with any request we had of them.  We had 2 other couples at our table that we really enjoyed dining with.

Our excursion to Red Stripe Beach in Jamaica was just what we wanted.  A nice little beach to relax and put our feet in the sand.  The attendants at the beach were also very nice and came by to see if we needed anything to drink or eat.

We signed up for the Self Assist Disembarkation and it went very smoothly.  It was raining when we got to port in Galveston, but we went through Customs very quickly and were in our car on the way home 30 minutes after the disembarkation began!

We enjoyed this cruise so much that we have already scheduled another for next year on the Liberty!  We'll continue to cruise with RCI as they have not disappointed us yet.

We only went to the Ice Show, The Battle of the Sexes and The Funniest Brothers shows. We like to go to bed early and get up early, so we didn't attend many of the later shows. But we did talk to others that had a great time at those also.

We stayed in an Interior Stateroom because we are only there to sleep. We like to be out on the ship and don't really care if we have a window or balcony. Our room was very clean and provided exactly what we needed. Elishah was an awesome attendant.

Ship tip

Our keycard was deactivated for some reason and Guest Services was very helpful getting that taken care of quickly.

We love to eat at Fisherman's Wharf located right next to the Port. It is a Landry's property and has great seafood!!

Cozumel, Mexico

Red Stripe Beach was very nice and relaxing. We love the port that RCI has built there. Very clean and great shopping. Margaritaville is always a great place to visit also.

Lighthouse is great! Find a coupon code online!

Lighthouse parking is easy and safe. Covered parking in a fenced parking lot. We have used them over 25 times and never any problems. Make reservation online and save some money.

Did anyone have any difficulty finding parking at Galveston? Is there a secure place to leave personal car?
