Review summary

Being first European cruise, didn't know what to expect. I have learned European people are rude, or non engaging, elevator etiquette doesn't exist, as people just push on before the people who are on can get off.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We had people disembark and embark in every port, so to be honest I don't think they could've messed this up.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Dinning room and buffet lacked great food options and quality, would love to see more American options.

Hola! Tacos & Cantina

5 out of 5

Hands down the best food on the ship, the service was great, atmosphere was great, they had this really great Carmel pudding cake that was to die for.

Dolce Vita Bar

5 out of 5

This was where the trivias took place, Nika the barman was great, I really love how all employees remember names and drinks so well.

Kaito Teppanyaki and Sushi Bar

5 out of 5

Teppanyaki was spectacular, our chef was funny, entertaining, and sang songs. The food was excellent.

Butcher's Cut

5 out of 5

We had great food here, the setting was great, the service was great.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The trivias were great. Karaoke needs more song choices, but still a lot of fun

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Saw most of the shows, they were great.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service staff excellent, Nika in Dolce Vita, was great, and Kamilla in photography shop was beyond great.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This ship was gorgeous, elegant.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had an infinity window, which also opened, so it became an infinity balcony.

Ports of call

Palermo, Sicily

4 out of 5
Just did a little shopping here, but still beautiful.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
We did the wonders of the Vatican museum tour. Was a great tour, long, and would not recommend for people with bad knees, as there were plenty of stairs, and the cobble stone streets don't help either.

Marseille (Provence), France

3 out of 5
Not that it's Marseilles fault, but we ported on armistice day, so everything was closed.

Genoa, Italy

3 out of 5
The days of the week strike again this time being Sunday, most stores were closed.

Barcelona, Spain

4 out of 5
Was nice we spent the day before the cruise in Barcelona.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
As with embark, so easy.

We live in Europe en just got of the msc world europe. We normally cruise with NCL/Celebrity/RC. This was our first cruise with msc. We found the food and drinks so much better on msc; less sugar in the drinks and better quality of cheese and bread, for us better quality overall. I understand the remark about the elevator etiquette; we also noticed terrible behaviour in the casino/elevators from some large italian families. Just horrible.

I did World Europa in October and it was amazing. All ports are great and you can everything on your own. Inappropriate comment about Europeans!!!

Like the detail, but if I were sailing on a vessel like MSC and in Europe, I would expect (and want) foods from Europe and not the US.

Appreciate your detailed feedback. Glad you enjoyed your cruise in spite a some rude fellow passengers. We’ve found that to be more common on our of sailings since the restart. Some people have forgotten how to act in public.

I lived in Europe for 20 years and found the people warm, welcoming and friendly. Especially towards the military.

And the Europeans think Americans are loud, fat, and obnoxious. All are just people's opinions, which mean nothing.
