Good experience on board a ship that is new and modern with all the electronics throughout the ship. Great to meet people from different parts of the world in one place. We were expecting to meet and greet the captain at our formal dinner and instead the meeting of the captain was an informal one at the center, main gathering with the captain and some of the first officers on stage. I would recommend a cruise on this ship for one trip. Compared to previous ships, it seems to me that people are packed into smaller cabins and sales appears to be the name of the game once you are on board. I would also recommend to research your ports before you take this trip and not rely on the MSC arranged port transportation as we found city buses that would take you to the main plaza was less than half the price of the MSC arranged transportation.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
We were met with pressure sales people asking us to purchase packages of which we finally purchased a wine and soft drink package. They are clearly measured on sales.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Complimentary dinners were sufficient and service was good but again we were constantly asked to purchase other dinners outside of complimentary items. Again, it appears that they are measured on sales.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Some activities were in conflict with dinner time and some activities were not attended because of this conflict. These activities did not repeat.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Recommend main ship entertainment which did perform three times a night giving you an opportunity to attend as long as you logged on to ship app to indicate that you will attend.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Steward attending to cabin was excellent and kept cabin serviced while we were out. Ship is up to date with electronics which informs stewards when cabin is in use. No more knocking at the door or placing tags on door knobs. Server at dinner was great, friendly and personable.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship is well cleaned daily inside and out. Ship design was very nice and modern. Some confusion walking the ship with some floors that did not pass through the entire ship. One would need to go up or down a floor to pass through. This was difficult to keep aware and seemed to have the same problem with most of the passengers. One could see that some people were lost in the ship even if they were talking in a different language. Main center ship area was very nice with sparkly stair case that seemed to draw everyone's attention for a picture.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Size was a little small as I compared to a previous balcony room on a previous ship for same price. No room for luggage storage when we unpacked. Balcony had no privacy and because of that issue we did not use it as we would have liked. Next day written agenda was provided and left on bed for us upon arrival to cabin nightly. We did miss the towel figures that were placed on bed on previous cruise.
Ship tip
Your daily bill is available for your review on the TV monitor and I would suggest that you check your account daily as there are items that are charged without being asked first. The Guest Services counter people were very good about removing items. I would suggest not to wait to the end of the cruise before you review your daily charges.
Packing the night before your disembarkment and placing your packed luggage outside your room for pick up the night before was not convient. Disembarkation seemed to be rushed to remove you out of the ship with breakfast only available very early before you were escorted to disembark. Process seemed to be good for Ship to remove you so that ship can be available for new guest coming on board. New passagengers were boarding on each of the ports that we visited since cruise was making a round trip.
