Four night cruise but lots of fun with nice passengers and Awesome onboard staff & crew! They are a bit understaffed in certain areas like the bars but the people there work their butts off to make sure you are having a wonderful time!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
I must say that the embarkation process was smooth as butter! As someone who is physically limited I was able to access the ship right away which was super helpful because I move REAL SLOW! But as a solo traveler as well I could not have been more pleased with how things went.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Overall the food in the buffets are Great!! Pizza is awesome and as a New Yorker that is High Praise!!
The main dinning room food was a little lacking and I ate there only twice once being Italian Night. As seen in other reviews it’s a little surprising that an Italian cruise line can’t seem to get Italian food well. Two people at my table sent their dishes back and my chicken parmigiana was pretty basic.
Again the buffet is the way to go!
Oh and be careful about the Chocolate place,it’s not included in your package.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Onboard activities are limited. I purchased the Fun Pass which afforded me access to the Formula One simulator as well as the bowling, arcade and zipline. Problem was getting time to use because it was a tad bit crowded due to the boat being at capacity. I will note that the arcade only had two games both racing games (excluding the simulator). But overall there were things to do if you looked for them. I did see classes for dancing as well as painting going on though I stuck to my standards, walking and the casino!
Entertainment
3 out of 5
There were several performers playing in different venues but it was classic rock ballads so not my cup of tea..
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The service and staff on board or all top notch! Everyone I encountered onboard was exceptionally friendly and helpful!
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Ship was always clean, cleaning crews were constantly on top of everything.
The ship’s layout, however, could be better. There are only three or four decks that go across the entire ship. If you want to go to the upper decks, you have to play elevator bingo to find where you wanna go.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cabin was nice and spacious with a nice balcony, however the balconies view was of where the crew hang out and where they store an extra propeller. However, once you look past that you see blue water, as far as the eye can see.
Ship tip
Bring comfortable shoes for walking around to navigate the ship! Also remember, the Chocolate is not part of the cruise fare which includes specialty coffee and gelato. But it is worth it to treat yourself!
Ocean Cay is Beautiful!! The water is crystal clear and the beaches are pristine. The one issue I ran into was at the excursion desk on the island. The person who was manning the booth at the time (Carlos was his name) could not be bothered to assist you if you pre-purchased your excursion and it looked like he just was not interested in doing a good job. In fact he tried to turn his mismanagement of the excursion I was scheduled to go on onto me which did not fly! To MSC’s credit they did right after I went to customer service. Not only was I credited for the excursion but a bottle of Prosecco was delivered to my state room along with caviar as an apology from the excursion staff onboard. That was REALLY NICE & I am grateful for them making it right in such a fashion!
