Review summary

This was our first time on an MSC ship and we've already booked our next one. The ship was very new and modern feeling. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Food was good.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was great. They were doing open boarding, so your boarding time didn't matter. It took about 10 minutes of waiting outside before we were actually in. From there we had no real time and were on the ship after a total of 30 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Most foods in the main dining room were great. Don't get the chicken breast though! There was no seasoning at all! Carribean night was great as was Italian night. Buffet was decent. Burgers there were the real highlight!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Good mix of things to do. Multiple pools and hottubs. We especially loved the adults only infinity pool on the back of the ship. It was nice to hang out in on a port day. There's also a little ropes course/adventure thing on the top deck that we had fun crossing.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Aside from the comedy act it was great. The musical shows were fantastic. The comedy act was definitely more boomer humor. His 18+ show was a repeat of jokes but with curse words thrown on and super raunchy.

Children's Programs

We didn't have children with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff were amazing! Any issue was had was quickly resolved and everyone that we encountered was super friendly.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We witnessed no issues with design or cleanliness. We loved the ship layout.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This room was great. It was a caddy corner balcony, which put us at an angle but gave us some extra space. Room felt plenty big enough. Balcony location was great though you do overlook the deck 9 balconies. We didn't have any issue with this though as we were't looking down really but out at the ocean.

Ship tip

Take the chance on the non-american cruise line.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Port was simply a boarding and unboarding port for us. Simple.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Island was amazing. We did a tour and had a great time. Favorite private island we've been to.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
The new port area they've built really made it much nicer. You no longer have to venture from beyond the port gate if you don't want to.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We took our own bags off and had no issues. Probably 20 minutes from leaving our room until we were in our car.

I was on MSC Seascape and had an amazing time. The cruise was so great I booked two more cruises. Too many people give bad reviews on MSC, but if they took the time to realize they can't compare MSC to American style cruising and also keep an open mind on different cultures, they would enjoy their cruises way more.
