Review summary

Beautiful ship, water slide, lots of activities, pools, and whirlpools, great staff. The food was ok and plentiful. Inside our balcony cabin was nice and spacious. the drinks were great too. Try Aloh Tacos, it was a hit, and oh the pizza, it was the best!

Embarkation

Interesting, drove into the garage with payment upon entry, unloaded luggages, waited for elevators with luggages, once on ground level, walked outside in the rain with luggages, and then walked across the street to drop off luggages. They asked for a tip! Once in, checked in, passed security checkpoint and then walked the little maze to board the ship. Normal process but it's what I am use to.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was plentiful and ok. The staff was great!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
All of the pools were great, I think there were 3-4 big pools. 1 inside pool, and the others outside with an adult-only pool. These pools are larger than any I've seen on other cruise lines. I would give it a 5 star however there was blue paint rubbing off of us and others in the adult pool. We got it on our swimwear and skin. We enjoyed the game room. Paddleball, Fooseball, pool table, and other activities. It was a short cruise and I was at Seminar at Sea so I tried to fit in what I could.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We only went to the Comedy show twice and each time was hilarious! We loved it!

Service and Staff

Excellent staff! Always smiling and very helpful.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Stunning ship! A little bummed because we didn't see the deck with the rock climbing and basketball court. I would give it a 5 star but the layout was confusing, wasn't easy getting from point A to B, I think signs would've helped in some areas. The elevator's arrival time was not accurate. For example, if it says 40 secs, 5 min went by. We ended up taking the stairs a lot. I'm not complaining about taking the stairs because it helped us burn calories! LOL!

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The cabin itself was nice. Wasn't fully cleaned but they took care of it right away. The location we had no say so being that it was a Seminar at Sea event. MSC assigned the cabin. Very front of the ship, enclosed wall on the balcony instead of glass. Just above the huge backup ship propeller. Not the best location or view. We heard everything and because of the hurricane, the last 2 nights were rough! The stabilizers made the bed shake all night long. It was just a little weird that I would be assigned to that room being that I'm a travel agent but then again, I'm sure they want our honest review good or bad as stated in our training. I gave it 3 stars because Guests Services was willing to help once on board but no cabins were available to change to until the ship departed to see who was a no-show. It was worth a shot but didn't work out for us.

Ship tip

Come open minded, and enjoy the ride!

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Nice port, no complaints because it depends on what cruise line you're on. Each one have their own garage and entry points.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

Beautiful Island! The first day it poured raining so didn't get to enjoy it because all the activities and food venues were shut down. I think only one bar was open. We hung out there for a good hour. The next day, the sun came out with some partial clouds. We were able to venture out. Only the bars were open. Beautiful beaches and very relaxing.

Nassau, Bahamas

Beautiful Island on a bright sunny day! We hung out a Junkano Beach. The locals will charge you for umbrellas and chairs. It's a little city with plenty of places to go and lots to do. Getting there from the ship was an easy 10 to 20 min walk.

Disembarkation

The same as embarkation. Interesting and confusing. From deck 6 and beyond. Walked through the theater where some had to walk down stairs with their luggages. We also walked through a maze of chairs and tables. Stange, I can't describe it any better. They do offer to take your luggage but we declined because we didn't want to wait for them once off the ship. Once off the ship, cross the street to the long elevator wait, thank goodness hubby walked the stairs and brought the to me. Smiling!
