Review summary

On the first day, we said we would never go MSC again, but things totally turned around on the second day ---- so much so that we booked another one! Special thanks to our Cabin Steward Glenn; waiter Rusdi and his assistant Thomas; and our favorite bartender, Mikhail (from Greece)! They totally were the reason for our change in attitude toward MSC.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was smooth and fairly speedy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The first night we were assigned to the Manhattan Dining Room. It was not our style -- very stark with very, very bright lighting. We were moved to the Central Park Dining Room for the remainder of the cruise -- Great experience there. Lovely ambiance and super staff

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The pools are very nice. I went to the gym one morning for the morning stretch class and there was no instructor there.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Teh shows were EXCELLENT! Some of the performers in Times Square were a bit too loud, but evening stage shows were very, very well done.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
First day was not good. Room steward never came around to introduce himself and we reported a problem with guest services twice with no response. However, The second day, we had a different Room Steward who was superb. Wait staff was WONDERFUL.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship, but awkward layout. Public rest rooms are extremely hard to find and very small. The elevators are super high tech and take a lot of getting used to. Wait time for elevators can be very lengthy, especially on the first day.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It is pretty much standard balcony cabin size. But has lots of storage and was extremely clean. Balcony had lots of paint splatters all over charis and table.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

Embarkation only

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas Did not visit port

My husband is handicapped and it would require too much walking in uncertain weather

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
WE have been to Nassau so many times that we just roamed the port shopping area for about an hour.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
It was unusual due to arriving a day late because of the hurricane. It took so long to get wheelchair service. We docked at 1:00 and never got off the ship until 4:00
